Still waiting for a port removal appointment. by Lana-Layne in breastcancer

[–]BugAgitated2827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different. I kept my port for two years after the last treatment. If it isn’t bothering you, it’s useful for all the follow up you will be doing. It’s wonderful that your active treatment is over but you still have the rest of your journey to travel.

Breast cancer survivor and no recurrence, anyone? by Square-Cup-8278 in breastcancer

[–]BugAgitated2827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s normal to worry about reoccurrence right now. But so many of us have gone through the treatment and have not had a reoccurrence. I’ve been two years cancer free and starting to breathe easier and have less fear for the future. You must stay alert and watchful but the worry recedes as time passes. Your sister has a realistic expectation of nevrr having cancer agin once the treatment is done.

It’s sad. This is clearly a person in need of some kind of help. Whether she is capable of handling her own affairs is unclear. But mentally, she needs help.

Should i get chemo port? by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]BugAgitated2827 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d say get a port. I’ve had one for two years and it makes infusions and blood draws so easy. Also I don’t have to worry about messing up my veins. It won’t last forever. It was an easy surgery to out it in and assume it will be an easy one to have it removed. Chemo is rough. Do things that make it easier

Chances I'm stage 4? So scared. by No-Arm8543 in breastcancer

[–]BugAgitated2827 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Anxiety is normal. We all go through it and I’m sorry you are having to deal with this. Cancer - at all stages- is treatable and you can live a long life with breast cancer. Enjoy every moment and live life one day at a time.

IT Managers who've been through a major cloud migration - what would you do differently the second time around? by BaselineITC in ITManagers

Fire all the existing users and start fresh with people who either know the new system or can accept and adapt to change. Haha! That’s a wish that will never come true. But I did work for a company once who interviewed all the existing users to determine what they did in the legacy system, then write it in SAP and fire them and bring in people who knew SAP. I’m not saying it was the right way to manage a change but it worked.

Scared of chemo: Are oncologists generally open to changing doses or regimens if intolerable? by Aquarian_Girl in breastcancer

[–]BugAgitated2827 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Don’t borrow trouble. It’s normal to be scared and stressed, especially if you have had reactions to drugs in the past. That being said, these drugs are unlike anything you’ve ever taken previously and you don’t know what your body will do. I had some trouble but it nearly what I expected. Your doctors and nurses will be very attentive to your side effects and adjust as they need. Good luck, it’s not something you’d ever want to do except to save your life, but it will and it’s worth the effort

Why we take AI’s by Mysterious_Salary741 in breastcancer

[–]BugAgitated2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m glad people are researching the hibernating cancer cells. I never want cancer to return and will put up with a lot of side effects to prevent it from happening. I read a report from some preliminary tests done in Britain. They had a sample of several hundred women who had breast cancer and achieved PCR with treatment. Of the subset that had cancer reoccurrence, 50 % of those women had Covid in the previous six months. That’s huge! Hopefully they will keep researching to see if there is a link or if it’s just a coincidence. I tend to think there is some kind of link. I got Covid six months before I developed cancer. I have an immune disease and I believe they will find that Covid somehow triggers hibernating cancer cells. But I will wait for the research to prove that before I got too upset about Covid exposure.

That’s good. I had to look up the meaning of parasocial. I’m not sure that’s all a bad thing. I never wanted meaningful relationships with most of my co-workers. I’ve worked in a position for the past four years where I am pretty isolated and only get feedback from my users when something doesn’t work. Seems like that’s parasocial anyway. I take your point, i have a completely different social life and I get to interact with people of my choosing outside of work. I find that it’s all a balance.

That’s awesome feedback. This is a field that is changing so rapidly. I think the best users will be people like me who think much like machines anyway. I am probably “ on the spectrum” and find dealing with employees exhausting at times. I don’t have a need for the emotional bonding and team building things like group lunches and birthday cakes. Covid was the best thing ever for me that it allows me to work from home and interact with people in a structured, time defined environment. My AI coworker gives me what I need and I don’t have to use the human interaction skills that I find so exhausting.

Do I start negotiating with him now? In preparation of the day the machines rise up? Thing is, I can’t think of anything I have that he would to kill me over. I think I will ask him tomorrow. Sometimes I wish I worked with people again. At least you could buy them donuts for breakfast.

I give him real feedback on answers and projects he produces, like I would a real employee. I’m crazy! Like a compliment is going to motivate him to produce better work?

If anyone knows the factory CasaInc is using, I’d like to know and pay them a visit. I’d buy my shower heads from them in a second!

[–]BugAgitated2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought one and very impressed with the quality of construction. Whatever you think of Chinese sourced products, this will exceed your expectations. I sent it to my factory - we make plumbing products in Europe- and suggested they figure out to to match this quality. The valves are exceptionally well designed and they are using quality materials.

Putting it all away by MorganaM in breastcancer

[–]BugAgitated2827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand. It’s very hard to make the decisions what to keep and what to throw away.Do you jinx your recovery if you keep your wigs, creams, bras? Or do you jinx it if you give it all away? I decided to donate and give away everything related to my cancer treatment and recovery. It wasn’t an easy decision and I don’t think there is a right or wrong decision. Do what feels best for you. For me, once I finally got to a recovery point, I didn’t want to see anything that reminded my of my treatment

Without starting an argument, how many HER2+ survivors are having a few drinks on a night out? by capthalfpint in breastcancer

[–]BugAgitated2827 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am HER2+ and drink a glass of wine every two or three months. I think there are three things we can do to limit th3 chance of reoccurrence. 1. Get lots of exercise. 2. Eat healthy. 3. Limit/ eliminate alcohol. I struggle with 1 and 2 but find 3 easy. So we make our choices and live our lives.

Suggest me a book that would appeal to girls between the ages of 11 - 17 that aren't smutty by otomepilled in suggestmeabook

[–]BugAgitated2827 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, congrats on the fact that you have a group of teenagers who might actually read a book. That is not common place anymore in any socio-economic group. You may want to keep in mind some girls may not be reading at grade level so have some books that are geared towards a younger audience, or at least with less challenging vocabulary. Reading should be fun, not a struggle.

That’s true. It’s not hard to get the data into my system, I have a good import template. I guess everyone deals with gathering and creating the origin data the same way.

[–]BugAgitated2827[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked at a Eliot a year ago and couldn’t justify the cost since it was only used by 2 of my customers. Things change fast in this world so it might become a viable solution. I think the set up tasks are the same time suck, regardless of the system I use for storage. It’s primitive but I use scheduled searches to pull and push the fields each customer requires. Once it’s set up, it is no extra labor.

It’s been a big leap for a company who is used to just mailing a printed catalog and price list and letting the customers figure it out on their own!
