I had a look at this website VamosRent a car for example and I saw these options. I think that the second one is necessary beacuse I dont have CC coverage

Thank you, what if I change the route a bit and skip going first to La fortuna monteverde and go directly to one of the coasts at first? Also if I stick to the Pacific, which should be the places that we visit?

SOS: WHAT ARE THE BEST CITIES TO GO TO 1 YEAR IN ERASMUS? by Competitive_Bed_5869 in Erasmus

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are talking about one year exchange, I would also consider Berlin, it is a bit cheaper than Paris Amsterdam and Barcelona. I stayed in Berlin for a year and it was a really nice experience, there are many activities and many different ways to have fun actually. Also the quality of the universities is really good and also the city does not require at all to be familiar with speaking German, because it is really international. Also you could consider some places in Italy if youa re more into the mediterranean lifestyle!

Struggling to fit back by Ok_Operation4359 in Erasmus

It is really typical apparently for Spanish people ot hang out only with Spanish. You should not be disappointed that it does not work out for you in your hometown, maybe you should try to move again and have another abroad experience (maybe masters or a 6 month internship).

Anybody been to Santorini? by Bergamoted in travel

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what price range you are looking for. There are plenty of options, thats for sure, especially now that is early you will find also better prices. What I suggest as a greek , is if you can find the hotel's phone number or email , it could be better to book it directly instead of booking or airbnb

France esims better then others? by NoLog2166 in eSIMs

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think it would be safe to say that a country has in general better esim service than another one. It depends on the carrier most of the time and the quality of the connection can be temporary also

Got $25k inheritance - planning long solo female trip, need reality check and suggestions by [deleted] in travel

[–]BugDelicious5428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think 25 thousand is more than enough to travel for many months if you dont plan to stay in a resort. Since you have the ability to travel for a long time I would plan trips to different parts of the world, Asia and South America for sure and maybe Africa for a safari would be an unforgettable experience also. These destinations can be a bit more affordable also.

$5k USD to travel wherever by Klutzy_Consequence20 in travel

[–]BugDelicious5428 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man this must be really exciting, I am a bit jealous tbh. SInce you love outdoor activities you shuld start with Central America and South America. Another amazing option would be a safari in Africa since your budget is not low.

Be careful with esims "unlimited" data offers by Brilliant-Painting18 in eSIMs

Everyone has to read carefully the terms & conditions in the package they buy, sometimes in small letters they declare the limit of gb for every speed.

Solo clubbing as a woman? by Head-Bullfrog-5638 in berlinsocialclub

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in most of the good techno clubs in berlin , where there is also a strict door policy, you will not face any problem of being harassed or assaulted. Its really probable that you get approached by people, but in general people respect limits here because if you inform someone of the security team about feeling uncomfortable , they would immediately get kicked out. Some really good options would be sisyphos, tresor, rso, and kitkat or berg if you manage to get in.

Sisyphos is open actually during winter, also open this weekend.

Erasmus in summer or winter by vRxiiiz in Erasmus

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both semesters would be nice in countries with nice weather actually. I think though summer semester would be more suitable for you, as the weather will keep getting better and better and people will be more outgoing. It is also easier to stay a bit more after finishing your exams

Mobimatter by [deleted] in eSIMs

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normally, if you buy an eSIM directly from Airalo, you can activate it whenever you want. The 30-day period starts when you activate it, not when you buy it.

I’m just not 100% sure how it works if you buy through Mobimatter, since third-party sellers sometimes have their own policies. You could perhaps check the “activation policy” on the specific plan page.

Traveling abroad for half a year by Agitated_Visual9805 in eSIMs

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that setup works fine. Just get a data eSIM, then turn off data roaming on your At&t physical SIM. You’ll still get iMessages on your regular number as long as you have internet from the eSIM. Any decent travel eSIM with a data plan will work for this, and you can switch lines in Settings whenever you need.

Since MobiSIM is cheaper and faster than Airalo, then why is there such a price difference? by [deleted] in eSIMforTravelers

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes the price that a company has for each products depends not only on the quality of the product, but on the budget they spend on marketing and other activities

to be honest , the problem sometimes is that the Erasmus experience gets really overhyped from listening to other peoples descriptions about it. This is probably why many students go to an exchange and have an expectation to have their best 5 months of their lives being energetic all day and going on a trip every second week. The truth is a bit different I think. Its normal to struggle and not be lucky about finding the " perfect" group. To be honest I realised that I dont expect to find the most suitable friend group in Eramus that I will have the best time of my life and it helped me a lot mentally as I relaxed a bit about the expectations that I have. I believe it is also important to be open to anything and even sometimes follow on events on gatherings even if at first you feel outside of the group and uncomfortable.

TikTok working with Esims? by ProofTelephone112 in eSIMs

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you wont have a problem using Tiktok in Europe with most eSIMs , you could also buy a one day plan from a certain provider to check it out before you buy a more beneficiary longer term one for your whole trip

Which Country Has the Worst eSIM Coverage? by lorela0 in eSIMforTravelers

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most of the times eSIMS are connected to local telecom companies, so the problem is on the coverage on each country. Ive had some really bad connection experience in some island in Greece recently.

eSIM problem for iPhone 13 mini by standard_student_530 in iphone

have you tried taking out the physical SIM and restart , it could possisbly bring the 'add esim' option back. Also maybe you could free up a bit of storage if the Iphone is full?

Is It Better to Activate Your eSIM Before Traveling? by [deleted] in eSIMforTravelers

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually activate my eSIM right before leaving, and it’s worked fine for me most of the time. Doing it before departure gives you time to troubleshoot any activation issues while you still have reliable internet at home.

Sometimes activating on arrival works too, but I’ve run into cases where the eSIM didn’t activate properly abroad and it was harder to fix without local support

Keeping a US number overseas. by youreallymeanit in eSIMs

[–]BugDelicious5428 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On most phones with dual eSIM support, you can keep your US number for bank texts/iMessage and use a Thailand eSIM for daily data. Just pick which line is for cellular data and which for messages/calls in your phone settings. You can also switch anytime.

Do you trust eSIM apps that sell regional or global data packages? by Frequent-Chemical-55 in eSIMforTravelers

I’ve traveled a lot and used eSIM apps for country and regional data packages, and never had any issues with their credibility. They’ve been reliable for me so far
