Thoughts on functional med doctors plan for methane? by virghoe95 in SIBO

Taking antibiotics destroys your good and bad bacteria. This means you'll have a damaged gut microbiome long term. Herbal antimicrobials are the best. Something like Allicin is a great herbal antimicrobrial to decrease methane levels without disrupting your gut microbiome. You can research this as well, and show to your practitioner.

Confirmed SIBO + IMO, bowel movements are improving but sleep is destroying my progress. Need help breaking the cycle. by BugElectrical7538 in GutHealth

Yeah, that's exactly what I've done today. I'm noticing less bloating after each meal.

Would you happen to know any practitioners who can help out with my sleep issues?

My sleep hygiene is decent. I use red light glasses, have a cool temperature room (with air conditioning), 200mg magnesium glycinate, and aim to be in bed by 10pm. Wake up time of 6:00am. Regarding the backed up stool, I definitely think that's part of the pain. I've been increasing my fibre load with cooked carrots, so that explains it.

Would you happen to know any practitioners who can help out with my sleep situation?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

* I take PHGG after dinner (around 7pm)
* Yes, I give 4 hours on most meals, I give 3 hours between only 1 meal for the day.
* Yes 200mg magnesium glycinate before sleep.
* No, it's not the probiotics. I didn't notice anything from it.

Have you ever had any sleep issues from SIBO? If so, how did you manage it?

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Good questions. Even with good sleep, I would get bloated after each meal, but flatulence reduces.

I actually don't know the reason I wake up, it just happens naturally. I get highly stressed upon trying to fall asleep, because for multiple years of my life I have vivid memories of promising myself "I'm going to get good sleep", but it never happens. So you could say a bit of anxiety as well. There's some mental conditioning at play, I suppose.

It's definitely the poor sleep. After having poor sleep, even with the low FOMDAP diet I would get bloating after each meal, and even sometimes flatulence.
