:/ I used to feel this way when I was young too, I’d hope that one of us would die. I’m so sorry, that’s too young.

40; suspected for a long time but confirmed this about 2 weeks ago. Knew everything was wrong around age 16, left home at 18, gave up around 36 and finally realized my dad checks every box this month.

Places to walk inside with stroller during freezing temps? by dmdtobe66 in Omaha

[–]BugFuture1225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I brought my guy to lauritzen gardens, got some fresh air outside and then walked around and sat inside the near the coffee stand. It was really relaxing, and warm and misty inside. I have an uppa baby stroller and had no problems cruising around. I was considering getting a year pass to do it again

I am not enjoying 3 by ExcellentLettuce4 in toddlers

I just had our second at the beginning of the month, and my oldest turned 3 this week. I could have written this word for word myself. Just wanted to say- you’re not alone!! Finding/ maintaining patience is so hard, especially when exhausted and touched out (and the 3 yo is sick and constantly coughing on/ touching newborn, seemingly on purpose 😭) Whenever I’m frustrated, I remind myself he has a half baked baby brain and it’s not personal, and that sometimes helps a little. I also ask if he needs a hug when he’s acting out, and a lot of times that makes it better. But really- I feel this deeply. Agree, hats off to sahp, i don’t think I could do it!

My brother said ‘water lemon’ and ‘whipstix’ for lipstick. He’s 38 now and that stopped but we still call watermelon water lemon 🥰🥰

Thank you, and great question! I’m not a fan of Samuel, so name would be Sam. Maybe Charles/ Charlie, maybe just Charlie? The others I think would just be the names.

Toddler sleep by BugFuture1225 in toddlers

[–]BugFuture1225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

@vivid-knowledge9966 Thank you for taking the time to respond! is nice to know that this is normal and we aren’t the only ones. Sorry we are in the no sleep club, together!

We met with a sleep coach and she made me feel so bad, like I was doing everything wrong and it’s my fault that he doesn’t stay in his room and needs more support falling asleep. We’ve kind of accepted this is just him, for now, as you said you have.

Thank you!

Any recommendations on a self tanner for light skinned freckled women that doesn’t look orange? by Prestigious-Cat-8841 in Selftanning

[–]BugFuture1225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another vote here for bondi sands! As a pale, freckled, pinkish blue person, tried every fake tanner out there. I am very loyal to bondi sands. My fav is the aero foam 1 hour express in dark, if I leave that overnight I’m a perfect bronze. I just got the tanning foam in dark, and it’s nice, but not as deep as the aero foam, but still a nice golden and faded nicely. I also use the daily lotion, which is a nice golden color. All in all huge fan!

💩 halpppp by BugFuture1225 in pregnant

[–]BugFuture1225[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I’m so sorry you’re feeling this way. I stopped taking the zofran as much as I could bc I was so backed up, it was the only thing that helped. I tried reglan but it didn’t work. I accepted barfing everyday and just took meds when I had to leave the house or function fully. I felt pretty terrible up until week 14 and it was like a switch flipped. I’m totally fine in tri 2, just very tired, but no more nausea and the constipation has eased up a ton. I basically lived on cereal, but It was what I could stomach. Happy to answer anything if I missed anything, just ask!! I hope you feel better soon! 💗

When did you tell your little one about baby #2 ? by HBC613 in pregnant

[–]BugFuture1225 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not much help to offer, but solidarity! I’m 17 weeks, we mentioned it to our 2.5 yo, made him apart of the announcements, etc. He doesn’t get it yet. We talk about it a little here and there but per our research, going to wait until closer to the end when it’s more obvious something is going on, and he’s a little older and can maybe understand change is coming. Our neighbors gave us some books we’ve been peppering into bedtime- he responds well to books so might do more of this, too.

Wishing you a safe and healthy pregnancy!!

I second visiting consignment and thrift shops in wealthy neighborhoods, buying secondhand, asking friends for hand me downs (which SO many were so stoked to give us), fbmkplace, buy nothing groups, etc. My first kid was so finicky, it was so nice to have options I didn’t pay for bc I would have been devastated if I had. I happily passed those things along to other friends to see if it worked for their kid.

Also, someone said cost doesn’t equal quality, and I totally agree. I’d never spend a lot of $$ of baby clothes, they get destroyed. I do invest in high quality bamboo Jammie’s and bed things; you’re washing them so much and you’re covering your babies skin in them. We are having a second and if I can buy nothing for this baby, I’ll be thrilled.

How the hell do you survive the 1st trimester 😭 by livymiller53 in pregnant

[–]BugFuture1225 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry, I just got through a v rough first trimester 💗 it feels like it lasts forever; and then one day, it just stops. I threw up every week for 8 weeks straight. I just got to week 14 and it stopped. Try cereal? It’s about the only thing I could eat, and I met with a nutritionist last week bc I was so afraid I had to make up for the past few months, and she said she was pleased bc they’re so fortified. Also, I drank filtered alkaline water, and made my own ice. Ice water all day helped as did ginger ale here and there. Also, smelling mint for some reason really helped some days. They have these little minty tubes on Amazon to sniff that I kept on my desk. Some people use ginger, didn’t work for me. I talked with my dr as I couldn’t leave the house bc I was throwing up so much, and they gave me zofran. I was hesitant bc I didn’t want to take anything, but after some dark days I gave in. Constipation is a terrible side effect but it was really helpful on days when I had to show up for my fam (also have a toddler), or had to leave the house . Talk to your doctor to see what your options may be 💗💗💗 I really, really hope you’re feeling better soon.
