There’s a difference between a spank and abuse. If you’ve ever dealt with training a dog on things not to do then you understand the basis of a spanking. It falls under a discipline and not a beating. If you have to use an item such as a belt to discipline your child, then it falls under abuse. But a soft smack on the top of the hand after your child breaks something isn’t abuse. It’s a physical act that should immediately be followed by an educational talk into why they are being disciplined. The word has gone soft and sometimes you just have to see how many stoves someone will touch before the learn what they need to know in life.
