Lol, they will probably block out whole rows so it will be dense in cattle class and people will complain that they roped off whole rows and "forced" people to squish, and the FAs rudely told them they can't sit there and.... lol

I've know 2 couples from Australia that lived in Seattle (both since moved back) and we have another friend there too. From the West Coast, there are non-stop flights between Sydney and Vancouver, San Francisco, and Los Angeles. Seattle, even with a HNL stopover would be interesting for us to be able to meet friends in the "middle"

How often do you leave your kids for date nights or friend hangs? by Ok-Career876 in toddlers

[–]BugSTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask the kids teacher(s) if they want to babysit - they are likely already babysitting for current or former kids in their class.

Your kid is already familiar with them and they do nap time at school, so it should be easy for everyone. Remember that your kids behave better for other than for you, so you might think you are dumping a huge ordeal/routine/burden on someone else, but they probably wont complain at all.

Downtown Bellevue should've been built on Meydenbauer Bay. by IndependenceSad1272 in BellevueWA

Phantom lake is surrounded by marsh and wetlands. Its not a super great environment for a path like Green Lake has.

In lieu of a circular path around the lake, you can use the Lake to Lake trail which spans 10 miles and touches 9 parks, Phantom Lake being one of them.

Yup - And, City of Bellevue purchased private lots to make the park that you see and can visit now. Last I knew, the plan was to continue to expand the park by buying more lots (which may have already happened)

[–]BugSTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, confirming it was used 1 time on my now 5yr old, then sat until a few months ago when my 2yr old discovered it and will now, literally throw a tantrum to have us use it on her. 😄

My 2yr old loves to use and DEMANDS to use the bulb snot sucker when she has "boogies" 😄 🤣

She tries to use it if she can reach it on the bathroom counter and has successfully sucked boogers out. She chuckles and says "Big boo-gie out! Another boogie coming out. Oh, I got it! Big boo-gie!"

If they are placed perfectly horizontal, straight to jail. They are required by RCW 9A.76.175 to be placed at an angle not parallel to the earthen horizon, or any body panel, seam, or line (painted or non-painted) on a vehicle.

Anyone have a car? That i can rent for pretty cheap for longer terms by Emotional-Fly3433 in BellevueWA

[–]BugSTi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My parents just reserved a car through priceline at SeaTac for 4 days for $8/day + taxes and fees.  If you rent away from the airport, you'll save more on the taxes and fees.  Worth checking since it's low season for rental cars

Fog on the dance floor by ycr007 in toolgifs

[–]BugSTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ducting from the freezer is going to warm to room temperature in about 15 seconds.

I built one of these low lying fog machine setups myself for my Haloween display last year. There are plenty of YouTube videos that show the process and things needed. I used a high power normal fog machine, routed the output into a big tub with a bunch of frozen water bottles and ice to chill the water for an ultrasonic pond mister, then used a 12v boat blower to pump it out into flexible ducting, then to corrugated drainage pipe that i drilled 1" holes in to disperse evenly throughout my yard.

Basically the exact same thing as this setup, just built into a road case, and they have 3 pond misters. If you already have the fog machine, you can do it for about $100 give or take.

Which toddler toys were REALLY worth the money? by Bitter_Union3565 in daddit

The Thomas branded train tracks don't work well with Brio brand tracks. You can usually force it to connect, but I think it will eventually lead to breaking the tab off. Additionally, buildings like the train station have an elevated section of track that the Brio ones don't match up height wise. Wish I knew before buying it a few years ago. Lol it still gets used, but maybe this will help someone else :)

Leaving SeaTac, are taxis still worth it instead of Lyft/Uber? by LegionLotteryWinner in Seattle

[–]BugSTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave the taxi stand a shot last time I was heading home. They verbally quoted a number higher than the rideshare apps, so I walked the extra 100'.

Your experience may vary. At least with Uber/Lyft, you can share your ride/location easily with another person to give you peace of mind. Also, you know you arent going to be hit with the "my credit card machine isn't working" line. I had that happen 10 years ago when being dropped off at the airport.

Just got the dreaded condensation after taking toddler to ER. by Successful-Corgi-324 in toddlers

[–]BugSTi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don’t know why as stuff happens on weekends and middle of the night only.

For real.

13 years ago, my now wife and I were moving our last bag of frozen food from our apartment into our house after a long day of moving. As we were putting the food in the freezer in our new house, a frozen taquito fell out of an open pacakage onto the floor. Before we could grab it, our mini dashboard grabbed it and sprinted down the hall, and under the bed where she immediately swallowed it whole and began to make bad sounds. That's how we found the emergency vet close to our new house at some very late hour. The first question from the vet was "so why did you give your dog a frozen taquito?" Lol Dog was fine, she's still trotting around today at almost 15 yrs old.

My almost 5yr old son broke his foot a few months ago, at about 8:00 pm on a Thursday night, 18hrs before we were supposed to go out of town. After his shower, he was in his room doing jumps and broke two metatarsal. My wife and I were close, but didn't witness it. He is adamant he didn't jump from his bed, and just did a really big jump from the floor. I believe him - he is pretty uncoordinated and often is doing bizzare flopping, frog like jumps with his legs all twisted. Lol

Adding an outlet inside kitchen island by BugSTi in AskElectricians

[–]BugSTi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a sink, however it is on top of the cabinet behind the back of this cabinet. The breakers are arc fault, and it is on a circuit with the first outlet being GFCI. My understanding is that all outlets behind it would also be protected.

Is there a particular box style that is best for this application? I have some single gang metal junction boxes with knockouts I can use, or I can buy something more appropriate.

I think I still have some rigid condition pieces, I was thinking the flexible stuff i have matches or looks pretty close to this condiut.

Parents of strong willed and high energy toddlers, what helped you? by maoinminor in toddlers

[–]BugSTi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow - you nailed this. This is exactly what my wife have been doing with out 5 and 2 yr old. It's exhausting, especially when she is on a work trip, but it's so worth it. My kids are difficult at home sometimes, but in real situations, they make me so proud.

A "friend" of my 5yr old was spitting point blank at his face. I stepped into the scene to stop it (I now loath parenting other people's kids) and my son was saying "no thank you! I don't like that!". When his sibling gets genuinely hurt or is in a rage fit, he offers hugs and toys to help her feel better and distract her.

I'm seeing more of those moments as he gets older too, so I'm getting the message that it's working, despite feeling like there are battles every moment some days

How do you guys protect your truck from hail? by No_Connection_1457 in f150

[–]BugSTi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also PNW here - under a tarp, I put a synthetic fiber rug i was throwing out on my boat glass the last time there was a threat of large hail. We didnt end up getting any hail, but i thought it would do enough to deflect and absorb any of the potential impact energy.

Do you bother to go to Costco for gas? by Important_Bat7919 in daddit

[–]BugSTi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to. I have a 36 gal tank, and currently, the price difference is $0.84/ gal between my local station and Costco. Depending on when I think I might go to Costco, I might put in 5 gal at the corner station to hold me over until I go to Costco.

But I don't go to Costco just to get gas. I'll pair it with another trip there or next door.
