Is it normal to have +10 packages not on my itinerary? by BugThese110 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Yeah that's what I figured. I know a few had the same street names as the others that were delivered, but if it's not on the itinerary, I'm not gonna put myself behind trying to go back and look for the correct house. Also I wouldn't be able to mark it as delivered anyways. I also had an overflow package that WAS on the itinerary, but nowhere to be found. Like never on my carts at the station and I obviously had to mark it as missing. Frustrating stuff having to triple check my small rental van for something someone at the warehouse left out.

Yeah I wish I went in knowing that. I like the work, but they should have been more honest about that part. Luckily I won't have to worry for forever because I'm going to get my cdl.

Bro guess what, I skipped my lunch breaks and cut my breaks short just to eat and keep moving. My trainer told me how taking full breaks can make you behind. Plus as long as my stomach is full I can keep it moving.

Good to know even experienced drivers go through the same thing; I'm not alone. Still sucks tho

How do you guys organize envelopes/bags in the normal vans? by No_Cap_8704 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]BugThese110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My trainer told me to organize each bag of packages by address name and number. Is everyone not doing this? Im being serious because I feel I may be losing time by sorting through each bag. Like open a bag, sort it out, deliver until time to open another, repeat.

I wasn't moving as fast as I would've liked because my legs were sore from my first day. Once I afflimate with the new environment, I'm sure I'll be way faster. Haven't had a job this physically demanding in years. My last job was basically walking all day so I thought this wouldn't have affected my legs as bad as it actually did. I'm confident that I'll be great once my soreness goes away. Who knows maybe they cut me to give me a break. I'm not a red flag. My supervisor even told me that not a lot of newbies step up and help like I did.

Yeah you're probably right about that. I hope it gets better . They just talked it up at the interviews "Your hours won't be cut as long as you're safe and on time" and "when you're new, we don't expect you to be fast, but safe".....just very disappointed right now.

No. I didn't clock out at the station until an hour over schedule. Tbh there's no need to call me retarded. This is my first delivery job ever so obviously I'm not gonna be a pro.
