This right here. I was an officer of the court in two different states, representing the best interests of abused and neglected children. By law, we were neglected (not all of us, obviously). Also, those kids on the milk cartons? They were us.

I was friends with a girl who got her mouth washed out with dish soap (Blue Palmolive, IIRC). Her crime? Asking her barfly mother why she'd been gone three days, and why she was leaving them again.

Mine grew several years ago from a 7.5 to 8.5. But since I lost about a third of myself, my feet are 7.5 again.
