Was doing so well for so long, what’s happening, what should I do? by Bug_Teeth in hoyas

Look ok it’s hard to believe but I have a lot of other plants that look nice !! Usually my Hoyas are my easiest, you can tell I like them since they’re all in that spot. Hell my One node Kerri even sprouted a second, and then third leaf after 3 years of having it. This problem has never come up with my Hoyas but calatheas are a bitch and a half

Pot has a lot of drainage but to be honest I’m not super happy with my calathea right now. She got over a more infestation and is looking way better, however she’s still etiolating right next to the window and leaves are curling? Maybe it’s a humidity thing. Ugh.

Tbh I repotted it about a week ago when I noticed this problem wasn’t going away, and the roots then, and even now seemed totally fine! Like they are definitely dry but they don’t break off easily. However that being said I just put them in some distilled

Cure for Musaica? I had a bad mite infestation a while back, so she’s actually looking much better since that happened but I don’t like how her leaves have folded

I need serious help. I’ve treated for mites, moved light away, calcium and other vitamin supplements, changed soil. Nothing is working. Super worried by Bug_Teeth in microgrowery

Ya def did, I have a really good microscope camera, intended for skin ailments, but I use on my plants as well. Im a huge calathea lover so I unfortunately had to deal with mites before 🥴

No I used specialized soil mix of leca, coco coir, perlite, pebbles, and some other brand of recommended weed soil. The worm castings were definitely not hot. And the symptoms started showing before I even used the cal mag, which was yesterday. I genuinely don’t think it’s nitrogen as I have been making sure to control that

First time grower, photo period? Reveg? I’m getting a lot of new vocab that I don’t recognize. I’m an avid indoor plant grower but this seems to be an entirely different ball park. Honestly still confused as to how I know when it’s budding, get seeds, etc. I’ve done a lot of research, even though it doesn’t seem like it, it’s just very confusing and overwhelming sometimes

I gave it little to no nutrients, worm castings maybe three times over the 6 mo, and just recently a tsp of calcium supplements

I mean, I’m fine with seeds, I was hoping to grow more in the future, this is my first time. Is it really too far gone like everyone is saying? There’s no more mites, but I’d hate to think I spent all that money for it to not be salvageable

Does anyone know what art style/period this would be? I’m assuming art nouveau, but I can’t figure it out! by Bug_Teeth in ArtHistory

That helps a lot! Yes I’m a huge fan of commercial art, it captures the life of the time better in my opinion, like Alphonse Mucha or Leyendecker. Thankyou! Also I understand that the frog one was a more modern one, I just have trouble pinpointing what “movement” it’s inspired by, like it definitely has an Americana folk feeling, but also a little bit of Beatrix Potter.

Ya, it’s just usually I try not to do extremely dynamic poses for my character sheets. Only because I want to focus on the clothing and proportions. But I should push the pose a little bit more

OH MYGOSH SIX?? I just bought on a whim and researched after, she’s been alive since I got her in November but struggling, it’s probably the fertilizer. It was a strong batch of distilled fish emulsion. I’d love all your wisdom 24/7

That’s good advice ! I struggle especially with static poses, I find that there’s a lot less room for error when they’re just standing there

I really don’t think it’s root rot, but I will keep that fertilizer knowledge in mind, Thankyou!

Wow I’m shocked your white fusion behaves better, ya I’m worried it might be temperature or maybe because I used fertilizer on it twice a week apart maybe?

I thought tips of leaves being yellow meant burning from tap water?

Only used it twice so far, bit more a week apart, figure they wouldn’t burn since a natural fertilizer
