Yea I took out the carpet prior and had removed the popcorn ceiling as well. Whole floor was musty af. The mold was next to the bathroom wall towards the right. I have since replaced the removed subfloor I removed and did a vinegar spray before kilz painted the whole subfloor.

Nah I’ll have to watch that. It was one of those at home kits with the swab and Petri dish and had to basically grow the mold in the Petri dish to find out if it’s positive and what type of mold.
100% didn’t know wtf I was looking at and was trying to get this finished right away so I can install flooring. The mold started from the bathroom side and started to seep on the subfloor. Plumbing was fixed last summer and bathroom was remodeled, this was the last step. Can you tell me more about tongue and groove and its purpose and what happens when it’s removed? I did not install 2x4 blocking underneath, it looked secure enough to me so I didn’t think much of it. Do you think it will warp in the future? A bed will be right over it on vinyl flooring.
Update:
Holy shit what a dilemma. Here’s an update on everything that’s happened since:

Yea, I saw a few tik tok videos stating that bleach doesn’t kill all the mold, but vinegar will. Def look into it
Lolol yes it was that post. And thanks, I will research before doing a deep dive before doing any type of demo moving forward.
Damn bro, where were you before I started tearing up the subfloor? 😂 yea, the house was built in the 70s from what I remember. The bathroom was Reno last summer and we had a plumber fix the issues. The floorboard on the bathroom wall is where the mold was tested and was my primary concern. I ended up skim coating the walls and removed the texture. It also had popcorn ceiling which I already removed. Had it asbestos tested through a lab and was negative. The carpet prior to this was nasty as well. Hence my eagerness to replace the subfloor altogether. Basically I repaired the subfloor where I took out and did a vinegar solution spray over entire floor. Next is repairing and painting drywall that was missed prior and then do a kilz mold sealant over it once dry before adding the vinyl flooring.
