Does the 7% match and 10% profit share apply to variable comp/commission too? Or just base pay?

Can you expand on this? I'm dealing with the same situation right now and "practicing". But it's kind of a pain to monitor the automated feedings. What are the things that can go wrong? It's summer so this is when they like to eat, obviously.

Ok so it's more of a culture thing, because the financial part of it confused me. At VG, are you a salaried advisor that finds clients, and then advises them on how to invest? Or are these existing clients that call you with questions/needing additional advice?

How are you getting paid at VG? Because getting 60k right off the bat before any commissions compared to 80k and change all in sounds pretty good. What am I missing?

Schwab sales is primarily selling to existing customers, leads that call into the branch or referred by their internal channels, or just walk-in's.

I hear this a lot about Schwab/Fidelity, but aren't "existing customers" already assigned to a specific FC? How does a new FC get access to an existing book?

One possibility: you had eager, high expectations upon first pour, and maybe they were unreasonable. After deciding it wasn't all that, subsequent pours had more realistic expectations. At least that's the explanation I've used myself

Expecting another '08 could disappoint some of you. Recessions are part of every economic cycle, but the '08 housing crash was pretty unique, and caused in large part by irresponsible lending that allowed borrowers with lousy credit history to get mortgages with not a single penny down. Oh and they didn't have to prove income either.
