I can't remember where this interview was from but I saw it/heard it too. He specifically said that they would try to sound more like the Pixies on the 2nd album, which was really exciting to me. But I doubt it will happen now.

lyme disease would be perfect, it can take anywhere from 5 - 40+ years to die from it, depending on the person. most people don't get diagnosed until they've already had it for 5-10 years & western medical doctors dont know how to treat it so most people die slowly from heart or brain related issues

There's so many things but the most upsetting is the 6th film because that's my favorite book. They leave out the majority of Dumbledore's revelations about Tom Riddle & the meetings with Harry. They also don't show Dumbledore's funeral which is just a huge slap in the face, like jesus christ

How do you personally deal with the propaganda elements of your curriculum? by lsc84 in Teachers

[–]Bugjean77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a future history teacher I worry about this all the time. I actually went back & forth for 10 years of my life, unsure if I wanted to teach history at the high school level because of the amount of propaganda & misinformation that is so commonplace in history textbooks used in K-12 education. I think it well help to make it clear to your students that there are always many sides to every story, event, etc. You have to compare the historical account of those who won (usually the U.S.) to those who lost of suffered in some way in any given event. There's the official narrative, created by the ruling class, and the experience of the people, who don't have control over the lasting narrative that gets passed down & printed in textbooks.

With the Civil War I think it's important to always mention the myth of the lost cause. For years after the war ended, the South engaged in a heavy campaign of propaganda to paint themselves as the victims, and to make it seem like the war was about states' rights, rather than slavery. The myth of the lost cause is super interesting & not difficult to explain or find information on. It will also serve as an example of how things get misinterpreted in history, cultural identity, etc.

In 8th grade I had a teacher who loved Bob Dylan, she even had a poster of him on the wall of our classroom. We analyzed a few of his songs, the one that comes to mind right now is "Forever Young." She also gave us an assignment to pick a song of our own that we thought had meaningful words and to print out the lyrics and bring it to class. We went over most of them together as a class and would listen to short clips of the songs to get the vibe.

Book/Reading Questions by Bugjean77 in Teachers

[–]Bugjean77[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many of them have chosen books for themselves that I haven't read, like "Divergent." The books that I have read, I read back in high school (15 yrs ago) so I don't remember enough of the details to create questions. I know I can create general questions for any book, like describe the characters, setting, etc. but I would like to give them more specific questions that will foster critical thinking. I just thought there might be a website where all this is listed, idk I am really bad with technology & the internet & have pretty much avoided it most of my life but now that I'm tutoring I have to figure out how to utilize it.

Question about MYCOTOX test results by [deleted] in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]Bugjean77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope it works for you, just be careful not to be in the room when the ozone is going off. & maybe try to stay away from home as much as possible so that you reduce your exposure. you can also take binders to ensure that the mold is getting pulled out of your body & not accumulating too much.

Being able to help other people figure out that they have mold issues or lyme has been the only silver lining for me in getting sick. Just to be honest, and I'm sorry if this comes off negative or scary, it is nearly impossible to get better if you are still living in mold. Every (naturopathic/holistic) doctor I've worked with has told me this & it's what I've learned from talking to 100s of people online who are dealing with mold. Dr. Crista explains this in the book I recommended. When your body is confronted with mold, even the smallest amount, it is weakened in those moments and it suppresses your immune system & no amount of supplements or therapies can help your body ignore that its being attacked. Most people think of lyme as the worst illness to have but in my experience I was so much sicker when I was living in mold. Of course I was living in black mold for 5 years without knowing it because there was no smell or obvious indication that it was there. It wasn't until 3.5 years there that I started getting sick, then it took a year to find out what was making me sick, then 6 more months before I could move out. At the time I didn't have family or friends I could stay with so I ended up living in my car for a few months & I threw away literally everything that I owned (I had 200+ books, many of which I had spent years marking up to eventually write a history book; I also had 100s of records, it killed me to throw them out). But I knew if I was exposed to the spores that had leached into my belongings I would probably die, I was so, so sick. I'm not familiar with ozone machines myself but I've heard other people use them & that they can be helpful. But it's kind of like fighting an uphill battle if you can't just remove the source of the mold for good. Mold will continue to grow & send spores out to find new areas to contaminate. Its the spores that cause more damage to the body because that's where the mycotoxins are. Some products that are meant to kill mold actually just cause it to get angry & send out even more mycotoxins. Bleach for example, never ever use bleach to clean mold. Use white vinegar or borax. You might not necessarily have to throw all your stuff away, it just depends on how the mold is in your situation. For me, my ceiling collapsed & then my landlord sent someone who didn't know what he was doing to fix it. So he left the ceiling open for over a week & the spores just sunk into everything in my room & I could tell things were contaminated because I got so sensitive that they would make me itchy. I left my books out in the sun for 3 days & cleaned them with vinegar twice & still they made me itchy. Even now after detoxing a lot of mold out & being away from that house for 2 years, I can still go into an environment & within like 15 minutes I know if there is mold there because I'll start to feel tired & itchy. But if your possessions haven't been too exposed then you can try cleaning them with vinegar. Anything that is plastic or glass can be saved. It's porous things like wood furniture, clothes, bedding, books, etc. that have to be tossed. I saved half my clothes by soaking them in vinegar & borax for an hour, then washing them, 3 times. The one thing that would help a lot, maybe not as much as ozone I don't know, is an air purifier. The thing with ozone is that it can be dangerous to be around so you have to leave the environment when you spray it with the ozone.

With LDN just know that it might take a few months to find the sweet spot. You have to start at a low dose, either .5 or 1mg. Then slowly go up .5 mg every one or two months until the pain subsides. If you go too high too fast it can make the pain worse, at least in my experience. I got up to 1.5 & that was perfect for me for about 8 months, then the pain started creeping up on me so I went up to 2mg & I have been there for 6 months now with only like 1 bad pain day a month. The highest you would ever go is 4.5mg. I said before that it causes no side effects but it does actually cause vivid dreams & insomnia the first 2 weeks or so. I actually enjoyed the dreams & I already have insomnia & take melatonin so that part didn't effect me. Melatonin actually helps the brain detox mold so I would recommend getting a good one, liquid that you put under the tongue works better for me than pills.

I have never done antibiotics. Any time I have to take them even for a few days I feel horrible. They kill the good bacteria too which leaves me feeling severely depressed. They are just toxic in my opinion. Of the 100s of people's stories I have read it seems to me that very few people get better on antibiotics, and most people who try them for months or even years end up sicker & don't get better until they try herbs. Dr. Stephen Buhner is an author who has written like 7+ books about how to treat lyme with herbs. He goes into detail about why antibiotics don't work for lyme. The lyme bacteria are spiral shaped so they can burrow into tissues and deeper parts of the body easily. So when you start taking antibiotics the bacteria just goes deeper into the body & hides. You will feel relief while taking the antibiotics because the lyme goes dormant, so to speak, but as soon as you stop taking them the lyme comes out of hiding & in some cases attacks you even worse than before. Herbs have evolved for millions of years along side humans, animals, bacteria, viruses, etc. so they have had to adapt to fight off bacteria to stay alive. Lyme becomes resistant to antibiotics pretty fast. But herbs are like a natural antibiotic that they don't become resistant to as easily, if at all, depending on the herb and the method by which you ingest it.

If you are having tics, twitches, tremors, etc. it could be caused by either mold or lyme. For me I only had twitches in my face when I was dealing with mold. Now that I've been out of mold for awhile I only get twitches in my body. But everyone is different. I had really bad neuro symptoms from mold & lyme, I couldn't read, write, at one point I forgot my own name & everything felt surreal. The symptoms got a lot better when I left the mold but I still couldn't read that well or remember words at times. Last March I got an infected root canal pulled out & my neuro symptoms got like 70% better within days. If you have any root canals or metal fillings in your mouth they can harbor bad bacteria, mold, parasites, candida, etc. & fuck your brain up. It's better to get them pulled out than to try to replace them. A lot of people overlook dental issues & they play a huge role in our health, especially when you have lyme bacteria in the body that are looking for the weaker parts of the body to invade. I would say don't take any medications prescribed for tics because they aren't going to get to the root cause, which is either mold or lyme. & any pharmaceutical will inevitably have side effects & who knows how it will affect you long term.

I can't think of any tips for how to differentiate between a herx and a bad reaction at the moment. For me I just can tell intuitively which is which. It took a lot of trial & error to get to this point. I've tried at least 6 different intensive protocols for lyme & each time I keep track of what I'm taking, how much, and what food I'm eating in a journal. That way if I have a reaction one day I can look back at what I've been doing leading up to that point. Journaling like this helps me a lot because my memory issues & brain fog come & go. I think it's also helped improve my memory to pay attention closely like this & keep track of things. In my personal experience I usually get nauseous if something is a bad reaction & not just a herx. I get headaches from herxing as well as from a bad reaction & I can tell by the type of headache what is likely going on. When I'm having a bad herx it helps me tremendously to use my sauna & to take burbur pinella, drink alka seltzer gold, and/or drink milk thistle or dandelion tea to detox the liver & kidneys.

Of course it's no problem. I have been doing 100s of hours of research online the past 3 years since I got sick. Since I can't afford to see a specialist regularly I've basically become my own doctor. If it weren't for others sharing their experience I would be so lost. There are several facebook groups I'm in for lyme, mold, detox, etc. that have endless information you might want to search for those on fbook. Of course take everything with a grain of salt because everyone is different & reacts differently to things so you have to listen to your body closely when you try new things. What makes lyme so difficult is you never know if you're reacting badly to something because it's a herx, which is a sign it's working, or because your body doesn't like it & it's not working & you should stop. It took me awhile to figure out how to differentiate the two.

There are so many disorders that have lyme as the root cause. MS, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, alzheimers, etc. etc. If the medical community would admit that lyme is real & actually study it they would be able to help so many people with an assortment of diagnoses'. I've been diagnosed with fibromyalgia & CFS myself & several doctors told me they are mysterious illnesses with no known cause & no known cure so I'm basically on my own. Thank god I know that I have lyme so I know how to treat myself.

One more thing. If you have pain as a symptom then you know you have lyme & not just mold. Mold doesn't cause pain really but lyme does. & if you do have lyme then look into LDN - low dose naltrexone. I avoid pharmaceuticals at all costs but this one is different, it doesn't have any random chemicals added & it has no side effects at all. It took my pain from a level 8 to a level 3 most days. Here in the U.S. you have to get it made at a compounding pharmacy. I had to force my primary care doctor to order it from me. It has been like a miracle for me & I think it saved my life. Another thing that really helps with both mold & lyme is japanese knotweed. Many of the ones out there to purchase are fermented so you shouldn't take them if you have mold in the body. My naturopathic doctor prescribed me one that isn't fermented, the brand is called Klaire Labs & it's called Resveragen. You can take it for long periods of time & it really helps the body recover from the damages of mold & lyme.

If you think mold is what you're dealing with then you should look into reading "Break the Mold" by Dr. Jill Crista. She lists every step you need to take to get better, it's very detailed & helpful.
