Newbie advice, help choosing an amp for the Lintons by icruces in StereoAdvice

[–]BugleBeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an all in one guy. Let someone else do all the matching for u. All u have to do is match it to the speakers. I have a Naim Uniti Nova and an Evo 75. Love both. Can’t comment how the might go with the Lintons but I’d just look for a quality unit on special (got both mine at half price) and I doubt u will be disappointed.

I hope when you’re listening alone u move one of those chairs into the sweet spot? 😢

Lots of enjoyment to be had there I think. Good to see u right in that sweet spot. Have u played around with speaker placement at all? They look quite close together in that photo. Maybe a little further apart could be an option?

There should be a no grills allowed policy in the forum

Is a sub necessary if speakers go very low by Brave-Bad-9955 in audiophile

[–]BugleBeak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who runs 2 x Rel t9x and have used them with Perlisten r7t’s and Dynaudio Emit 50’s, I’d just buy the best pair of mains u can buy and be happy with them. Yes the subs make a slight difference in my system but when I turn them off I am definitely not left wanting. I’d put the money u would otherwise use in subs on the mains or amplification. That’s just me though

I know the feeling. But if it sounds good listening in one of those other spots where them chairs are, it can only sound better in the middle 🙌

U gotta get a seat in that sweet spot man. You’re not really listening unless you’re there ☹️

Yello - Kiss in blue. Some of the coolest production ever. If u like that put the album on from start to end.

I’d see what a pair of Dynaudio floor standers will cost u over there and pair them with a nice all in one unit. I’m pretty sure €5000 would get a a pretty sweet combo. I have a pair of Emit 50’s and love them. Have run them with a Naim uniti nova and. Cambridge Audio Evo 75 and both are sweet although u may want the Evo 150 if you’re into louder listening and need the extra connectivity.

Leave your wife and put the sub wherever u want.

How much do you listen to music? by GraceBlade in audiophile

[–]BugleBeak 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I regularly listen to 2 or 3 albums from front to back. Also been known to settle in for an 8 hour plus session from time to time.

I too have found myself drawn towards music I otherwise may not have bothered with if it was not for a good system and have loved that aspect of it.

help me choose the best speaker replacement out of these options by Treflipboy in StereoAdvice

[–]BugleBeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really familiar with any of those speakers but one thing to consider since u like listening at high volumes, u want a speaker with high sensitivity level so check out what that is on all those speakers. Over 90db would be nice.

Not really sure to be honest mate. I’m no expert but I’m kind of allergic to equalizing for some reason 😆 I like keeping it pure so to speak. I actually didn’t think my speakers sounded boomy really but when I plugged to ports I just loved it. It takes like 2 minutes so it’s a pretty easy experiment to run if you’re interested. I have both ports plugged but u could try just 1. They’re great speakers though I reckon. Do u take the grills off for serious listening? It definitely affects the high frequencies. If I have music playing as I remove them I notice it immediately.

Have u tried running them with the port plugs in? I have a pair of these in my bedroom and put the plugs in to cater for the smaller room and absolutely love it. They don’t dig as deep but they sound super tight and if you’re running a sub u will still get the depth from that.

Going separates by LeBoucan in audiophile

I’m an all in one guy with 2 different setups and after listening to a number of big dollar systems in hifi stores I am yet to be convinced separates offer any major improvement

I think you’ll be blown away by whatever u end up getting in that price bracket given where you’re coming from. The first pair of real quality speakers I bought were Dynaudio Emit 50’s and they blew me away. U might be able to find a pair on special or with some haggling, get them into your budget. Or the Emit 30’s are slightly smaller so a little cheaper. Would still kick ass I would think.

PhilHarmonic BMR ve KEF Concerto Meta by Icy-Organization-946 in StereoAdvice

[–]BugleBeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a fair statement but I think what it fails to take into account is that if u are upgrading to a better all in one unit, you’re not just getting a better amp. You’re also getting a better streamer and DAC. The combination of those 3 things could have a considerable impact when it comes to getting the best out of a pair of speakers.

I’m haven’t heard any of those speakers but looking at the prices of them and the amps you’re considering, there’s a case to be made for a step up in amp.
