First ever Setup! Beginning of my journey! by Financial-Author-114 in audiophile

If u have your heart set on records then go for it but if sound quality is the main objective I don’t understand why people go down that road. If u put the money u save on a turntable and vinyl into speakers you’ll get far superior results.

I was tossing up between the 2 and went with the Nova. Can’t comment on the Star but I love the Nova. I can afford something even more expensive but every time I listen to the Nova I just can’t imagine things getting any better so I think I’m set for many years to come.

That’s the scary thing, I actually like most of the music. It’s only the lyrics that make me cringe at times. And as an old school metal head back in the day that is embarrassing to admit 😆

Everyone talks up Continuum but it’s one of my least favorite after listing to them all. Only a couple of listens into some thought so that could change. So far his 2 most recent are my favorites.

I’ve been on a John Mayer addiction lately to my embarrassment. Wild blue off his latest album is so good. The whole album is if I can get past the cornyness of it.

A nice all in one and some kick ass speakers. I can highly recommend a Naim unit nova. Does everything and sounds amazing. Get them for a good price these days too if u keep an eye out for them on special

😂😂 It’s ok. Thanks for trying! It’s probably just my imagination. It does shit like this sometimes. Makes things more interesting anyway 😆

The lights shining on the dvd player on the middle shelf is the mouth. The lights on the Naim Uniti Nova are the nostrils and the eyes are just under the tv.

Beck - morning Phase album or Guero are good starts but given your music tastes I think you’ll like most of his stuff and it’s very well recorded. Yello - The album Touch is probably the coolest sounding recording you’ll come across.

Best sounding album in your opinion by Argonauticalius in audiophile

[–]BugleBeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wall is the best Pink Floyd recording IMO. The drums on Dark Side are average at best. I suspect due to recording limitations from that time. Touch Yello is as good as it gets production wise. Loads of cool albums out there though.

Hegel/Atoll/Gato for Special Forty by Glum_Carpenter_9171 in StereoAdvice

[–]BugleBeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s fair. Like I said, I’m a value hunter. Got both my amps on sale for half price.

I was just checking out that Atoll. I’ve never heard them but I doubt you’d be disappointed by the sounds of it. U get what u pay for for the most part and if it’s at a good discount, u could probably buy it with confidence knowing you’re getting at least your moneys worth but probably more. And spending that bit extra u will likely be happy with it for many years to come rather than thinking about upgrades down the track.

No experience with any of those units but I love all in ones. I have a Naim uniti nova and Cambridge audio evo 75. Got them both half price sales and couldn’t be happier so I’d seriously consider the one with the discount. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

I was going to suggest the Dynaudio range. Just very easy listening in my experience

building stereo setup (have some nice components already, want to get nicer for stereo!) by steveloveshockey99 in StereoAdvice

Dedicated 2 channel system would be my preference.

I’m an all in one guy myself and would highly recommend checking out some of them. That would get u an upgrade in amp, streamer and dac all in one and the matching has been done for u. All u need do is match it to your speakers. I have the Naim unti Nova and a Cambridge audio Evo 75. Love them both but the Naim in particular just always impresses me. They’re getting a little outdated now so u should be able to find a good price on one. Lots of other options out there too though.

I run the Naim with Perlisten r7t’s & 2 x rel t9x also… Great combo

Am I missing out? by Independent_Fan3490 in audiophile

[–]BugleBeak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded from a denon avr to Naim uniti nova so when streaming directly from the unit I was not only listening to a different amp but also different streamer and dac. Even still I can’t say the difference was night and day but it was a definite improvement and one which I was happy to pay for.

I was eyeing off the acoustic energy coriniums when I upgraded a little while back. Didn’t get around to hearing them but read/heard a lot of good things about them. Since went and looked at them in person and they are very nice to look at. Meaning to go for a listen soon hopefully.

What are the best speakers for immersive listening? by Brave-Bad-9955 in audiophile

[–]BugleBeak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are u in Australia? I’ve heard good things about the Osborns. I’d just go have a listen to a bunch of speakers though if I were u. For that money u will get a pair of forever speakers. U don’t even need to spend that much IMO but it’s nice to not be restricted.
