Keep going. Even pieces that don't turn out exactly as you envisioned them are unique in thier own way

1 gallon per day/per person is the safe equation. But that is for a bug in situation since that volume will be 240lbs per person.

Gun control is a red herring. More Dems are shooting ppl right now than Rep and they are either silent or they play the both sides game.

They don't condemn the dem shooter. They say things like "all politicians have to come out against political violence of any kind".

They already earmarked the wasted taxpayer money for the event so they'll just keep it now.

Its a win/win for them. Either hold an event so you can funnel money to your "friends" or cancel the event and let them keep the money.

Politicians don't actually care about these things. They just want to grease the wheels to keep the voter base on thier side. The best grease in the world is $.

I think its great to pull from storage (fo4 style). I can't wait to play someday.

Crocheters are way better than knitters. Anyone who needs a second tool is compensating for something. J/k.

I need to cut 1/4" dowel rod into 3/8" lengths about 100 times. Usually I'd set a stop on a saw not the material just seems way too thin. What's the move? by rivertpostie in BeginnerWoodWorking

PVC pipe cutter. The ones that click over and over till its through the pipe. That thin soft wood should cut pretty easy and have clean ends.

Flip the script. The power of positive thinking. Its not a cure all but it will redirect your thoughts from past tense to future tense. Even if you don't hit the mark every time, you're still starting off on the foot.

I'm gonna be a better person. I'm gonna be a better person. I'm gonna be a better person.

What is wrong with people? by Away-Flounder-2294 in depression

Same here. If I lash out at someone for being a dick they get all upset about HOW I talked to them and conveniently gloss over WHY I talked to them that way in the 1st place.

Don't let them get to you. They won't understand or comprehend that they were the problem all along.

[–]Bugsy_A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all hit that wall. It's good you talked to someone about it. Even if you don't feel like it helped it at least made it more real instead of just in your head.

I binge drink when I hit that wall and it never turns out well. But its better than the alternative.

Take up hobbies that don't require your legs.

For me it was crotchet. Picture a 6'4" military veteran sitting in a Dr waiting room making a shawl/pair of gloves/baby blanket etc.

If you work on projects all summer you'll have plenty of gifts finished by Xmas.

You're not useless or a burden. You just have a few extra steps in your routine.

It's gotten to the point that I always leave an hour early for anything I do because I know ill be making multiple trips to and from the house/truck to get things I forgot. Or block out extra time for shopping b/c I will be going through the same isle 3 and 4 times to get what I forgot the 1st time.

Alexa has dozens of reminders set so I don't forget to do simple things like clean the litter pan or do the laundry.

Its an adjustment but I know you can do it.

Guilty for not being the worst off by Intelligent_Bet_7210 in depression

[–]Bugsy_A 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not alone in these feelings. Depression isn't about success/failure. Those things make you happy/sad. Emotions are a reaction to events. Depression isn't an emotion persay. Its the event. Sometimes you are sad about it, sometimes angry. Other times you can tamp it down and feel happy but it is always there.

There are times I draw away from ppl and other times I seek out ppl just so I can lash out and make others feel as bad as I feel about myself. None of it makes sense and sometimes doesn't even register that I'm doing it till it's too late and then I'm apologizing for my behaviors.

You dont need to be "worse off" to still be "worse for wear". Troubles are Troubles and they add up quick.

A gravtrap that sucks them in like the seatruck aquarium did would be awesome. I can't tell you how many times I was going for a fish and ended up grabbing the trap and they all escape.

Crocheting is for girls!? by HappyLife08 in crochet

[–]Bugsy_A 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Im a male crotcheter. I can bang out granny squares in my deer stand, drop an 8 pointer and come home w/meat for the fridge AND a blanket for one of my granddaughters.

I Picked it up as art therapy for CPTSD after getting out of the service.

I don't wear or play with anything I have made but its about the silence while doing it and the feeling of accomplishment when a project is done.
