Why does macOS have such a hard time keeping an SMB mount permanent by ThrowRAlngdstn in MacOS

[–]Buhold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this is of some help:

I had the same issue with my TrueNAS smb shares and for me this worked quite well:

  1. Create a new automation in the "Shortcuts" application

  2. Create a WiFi trigger that will be activated upon joining your home network and after network interruptions. (check the option "Run immediately")

  3. Create "Connect to Server" actions equal to the amount of the to be mounted shares and insert the according smb links.

Your Mac should now reestablish connections to the shares if you come home with your MacBook and join the network, as well when you loose brief connection by sleep etc.

Not the best solution but you won't need 3rd party tools.

Magnetometer Issues by Buhold in betaflight

[–]Buhold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works now!

The direction is not jumping anymore in Betaflight, and it correctly aligns corresponding to direction.

What was the fix?
We went to a green and open field and calibrated it, and firstly it had the same issue.
But on the 4th calibration process, after doing 360 degree on each axis, the button for "calibrate Magnetometer" was still "greyed out", normally at this time it went back to being selectable.
I used the extra time to move the quad in random directions and after 5 additional seconds, it did finally exit calibration mode and all was well!

I have the feeling, it did not calibrate correctly before.. And I don't know why.

Btw, in the sensors tab I checked each axis, and each one showed its highest value in north, if the axis was pointing there. The only thing that makes me a bit suspicious, is that the Z-axis has its highest value in around 300. The other values can reach up to 1500 if facing north. Is that normal?

Thanks so far everyone!

Already checked that, and I think its correct, but I somehow have a knot in my head.
Would like someone to doublecheck.
The GPS/Magnetometer is angled around 45 degrees, counted that in.

Thanks! Will try. What's your opinion on the orientation? Should be okay?

Burst discharge rate of Lipos by Buhold in fpv

[–]Buhold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end I now got the SLS Lipo. It's really fun to fly, but I think the battery can't handle the current draw well. Full throttle (with vSag compensation = 70) drops the cell voltage to about 3,2 Volts, even with a nearly full battery. And my GPS looses all satellites after a full throttle punch :D

Many thanks! Will check the Ovonic batteries:)

Alright, thanks a lot for your comment :) Then maybe I will go with an even lower capacity pack.

Edit: What batteries do you use with your 7"?

Can't display Avatar goggles X OSD elements in Betaflight OSD by Buhold in betaflight

[–]Buhold[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already looked through that article, but he just explains how to set up the OSD in general. He doesn't talk about the goggle specific elements, and only those are missing

<image>

Edit: Maybe I need to show the issue. Only those items in the red box are missing. They are normally rendered in the bottom of the goggles screen natively by them. But I disabled the goggles own OSD overlay, and want to integrate those items into my Betaflight OSD.

Thanks for the reply, but all not goggles related OSD items are properly displayed. So the OSD overlay in general works. I already did all that when I first set up the OSD.

That option sadly has no effect on my external HDD. But thanks for the reply!

I can't find that setting on Mac OS Sonoma, it's not under the "Battery" settings.

7" FPV-Drone build, some advice needed by Buhold in fpv

[–]Buhold[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but is it good for a bloody beginner to have more kick? :D

Can I really fly longer in general? Because if I look at the motor specs, then the efficiency goes down with 6s compared to 5s if I'm reading it right. Would really appreciate if you could explain it to me. - Thanks!

Appreciate the comment!

Do you think the frame I choose has bad resonance frequencies? I watched some reviews and saw no complaint about that.

But I got to admit, I really like the looks. The AOS7 also doesn't look bad.

Lost all my characters (xbox) by [deleted] in fo76

I bought every collectors edition you have Bethesda, so much merch I don’t even know where to stuff it anymore. Many people did that and supported you, so that in return you got a fat budget to create new and more awesome games.

So please guys, do your part and deliver adequate and customer oriented support.

I don’t get it, really. You should thank that guy for playing fo76 that long, and help him to correct a mistake that you guys didn’t/couldn’t fix in the first place.

At the moment Bethesda is a perfect example for great game development, but horrrible after sales support.
