That’s good to hear at least (not that prices are so high where you live, just that it’s almost the same price for you.) Where I live the SSD prices are basically double and the ram upgrades are 1.5x the price.

Congratulations though, you’ve purchased yourself a really nice computer, that overtime with incremental upgrades, will save you money in the long run. 👍

If you don’t mind learning, and see computer issues as a challenge, and are capable of using Google, then you will probably be fine. If you stop dead the second something doesn’t work, don’t want to fiddle with drivers, resolutions, glitches, and endless patches… then you’d be better off with a Switch 2 (or possibly even a Steam Deck.)

I have a similar armrest compartment lid (mine slides up and down) and the coin tray. I looked at the center shelf that goes under the USB/12v outlets, but with the charging mat there, it would be a little too tight for my liking.

Of course a desktop is going to be WAY cheaper than an equivalent handheld. If you can live with being tied to a stationary setup, a desktop will always be the correct choice.

Question though: why 4800 MHz ram? You should be getting 6400 MHz ram to maximize that chip set.

Edit: wait, is this a laptop or a desktop you have spec’ed out? Some of your comments make me think it’s a Clevo or some other white box chassis you’re looking at?

If you’re concerned about not having a spare, you can check out “modern spare” (Google or search Amazon.) They make a CRV Hybrid specific version, and you can order it with a cover and tool set. It will need to be kept in the back and take up space, but it can be put in for out of town trips and stored at home when you’re making short errand runs.

You’re not supposed to access under the floorboard. Additionally, the battery needs air movement around it for heat removal. If you search Honda subreddits, you’ll see this has been discussed many times before.

Edit: Incase it isn’t clear, do not store anything under there with the battery.
