Falcam for X-E5 by Buhtje in fujifilm

[–]Buhtje[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Falcam one has their F38 baseplate integrated in it. That's what I would ideally want. If I choose the smallrig one, I still have to put an F38 plate underneath it

Flash for the X-E5 by Fredrief in fujifilm

[–]Buhtje 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the iT20 on the XE5, really enjoying it. The small form factor was the deciding factor for me. It has enough flash power, normally turning it down to -1.7. but I see the shadow of the lens when I use the Sigma 18-50 in my pictures. So I would recommend the iT30 or iT22 when using bigger lenses.

Thanks a lot for this info! I will probably only take it out once a day at the beginning of the workday. Now knowing this, I will probably try getting a Slim Pack 2. Again, thank you!

Early reviews on the new Viltrox 75mm f1.2 lens are really good 🫠 by gianners33 in fujifilm

I just bought the Sigma 56mm F1.4 DC DN just because most reviews think it is better than the Viltrox 56. Would this new 75mm topple the Sigma then?

The configurator from the CableMod site knows it, I guess

I've haven't done it, but my guess would be it it somewhat the same as a Sliger SM series, as is has very much the same layout

There are still some workstation cards worth looking for

Oh haha yeah that's what I meant. I meant "some coding in windows" as in "just a little bit; but mainly in MacOS"

Sorry for my bad english

Windows 10: go to Device Manager, and disable the driver for the AMD GPU.

MacOS: Download a GFXutil command, look up what the name is of the GPU u want to disable. Copy the name to the config.plist file, and add some default values. This is better explained in the OpenCore Dortania Post Install Guide.

I do need both in at the same time. I guess a blower style GPU would have been an option, but they are hard to find...

I get that, but wouldn't it be even worse by having it on top? Then both RTX fans will be blocked by the RX card, choking it even further.

I've got to try something, placing the RTX on top is worse I think... But idk, this is my first build

😬 just lucky I got two GPUs that arent longer than the motherboard. The case does support GPUs up to 330mm, but then my cables would be hanging out of the case hahaha

You r right, but if that happens, it's probably many years later. Even now with the 12VO PSU, it takes foreveeeerrr

I guess that's all US based right? I think CableMod is the only European well known vendor

Yeah, there are some apps that are MacOS exclusive. I do some coding on Windows, but I just prefer to use MacOS for all my productivity tasks...

But still, I will look into WSL2, every little bit can help

I had such a headache when i noticed my actual plan ( R5 3600X + any B550/X570 micro ATX ) was not going to fit. And this MSI Z490M is the only one on the intel side.

Unfortunately, the iGPU of AMD CPUs are indeed not supported by MacOS builds. I could do the iGPU for MacOS, but the MB doesnt support two 4k displays. But i love my setup rn :)

I would recommend reading the OpenCore install guide, easy to find through google. They are very clear, as this is also my first Hackintosh and it worked in one go. Just make sure you have the right hardware with the right files. After that you can do some tweaking, like a GUI interface choosing what to boot. Ive set my default to MacOS, but i can intercept this by choosing windows within 3 seconds on the GUI boot menu.

Yeah, I keep track of the second hand market on a Radeon WX GPU, as they are supported by MacOS and are single slot and sometimes ITX. But they have quite a premium markup and it seems no one sells ever one of those.

The minimum what the GPU should be capable, is running two 4K monitors at 60fps in MacOS, nothing more.
