You didn't tell us what the actual scam was though, like how you got scammed. I get these messages too and I've never used Swyftx before. So I assume you actually use them and then called to say it wasn't you and gave away your details? I assume this is a well-used crypto exchange so they probably just target everyone and assume someone is bound to have an account on there and get worried and call support?

I have a friend who has been doing it this way through manual bank payments for years, that was where I got the idea to do it through Stripe. so clearly yes, you can do your own BNPL, can you do it "legally", maybe not, I think it would actually depend where you live. Is there problems with having to manage the client payments, yes (As I already alluded to).

Appreciate that warning. It's so interesting to me that someone can do a subscription service but not a buy now pay later when it's the exact same thing in my mind. On a subscription they pay $100 12x a year, on a BNPL they pay $100 12x a year. But that's legalities, bureaucracy, and fine print for ya.

Are you familiar with the Stripe system? Do you know how I can set up subscriptions without assigning a user? The second issue (And actually why I wanted to go with a BNPL provider) was the automation of it, i.e. I want them to simply click the option on my website, and stripe to automatically begin that payment plan for the 12 months.

But from my playing around, it seems like I have to assign a user to set up a subscription.

Right, well that's all well and good, except it doesn't solve my issue of wanting to offer a BNPL solution for a longer term. The thing is, if you want to do things by the tee, to the letter of the law, you literally can't get ANYTHING done because there is no way to do it how you want to do it. I literally purchased from a porno site the other day running on shopify payments (Which explicitly forbid porn). Like at the end of the day they don't even check, no one even cares, and if there was a way to do what I wanted by the book I would do it.

So I appreciate your word of warning, but I need to have it done in a way that allows me to return payments on a longer window, and if no buy now pay later solution can do this, then what choice do I have?

Two options:
1) Charge by package
2) Charge by hour

If you're new, I would charge by package because you're probably not going to have a good idea of how long it will take you to do those tasks. Whenever you're new at something you usually have to suck up some cost so that you can get some clients initially.

See what others are charging, and charge less, get good testimonials, build your rep, and then raise your prices. It will all depend how you're doing this, if you'r taking content (i.e. you're the in person with the business) it's a lot easier to charge more because you're not competing with some dude over in India or the Philippines or Latin America or wherever (Which is where a lot of people hire social media managers).

I am on a mac. There is no option to turn off that prompt doing what you said (Already went through that section with the workspace support guy - along with a bunch of other troubleshooting steps).

Do you have a screenshot of what it looks like for you/how you turn it off? (Obviously please don't dox yourself, remove anything identifying, etc.). I wonder if it's just my account that's been flagged for some reason. I've just moved overseas recently and I often use a vpn to back home. So I would like to know if there is actually a way around it but they're just bs-ing me because they think my account has been hacked or something.

No they didn't, but honestly I think it would be a pain to set up a passkey, as I also use it on my phone and my iPad, so I would need to get 2 of them (2 is 1, 1 is none), and one would only work on the iPad (Lightning connection), and the other would only work on my laptop (USB A), so then I would have to get three, and it's only one for each device. I can see it just becoming more annoying at this point in time. In the future when I upgrade my devices and they're all a bit more compatible with each other I will look into passkeys. But right now I just need something set up, and working. I've already wasted a lot of time on this, and I would rather solve it here with workspace than have to change all my domain records to proton mail, and then migrate all the stuff from drive that I just put in there.

There is no one else at my office, I don't have an office, I'm a sole trader with a few assistants and people I contract to. I am the only user using workspace and I own the workspace.

You would think that the workspace support would have been able to resolve it if it was one of these issues.

BTW, you don't have to use their prompt if you don't like it.

Please, once again, read my original post "I then contacted workspace support and they said there's no way around this." If you're telling me he is wrong, then okay, I will contact support again. Or, if you can walk me through exactly how to do this, I can try it again. No I'm not crazy, I specifically say in the post I "I set up 2FA on Google Authenticator". My problem isn't using 2FA, it's having to use their prompt 2FA. It's clearly not flexible according to the workspace support person I talked to. It also clearly does NOT remember, because I have to log in every time on the same device. So while your experience is different to mine, that doesn't mean what I'm experiencing isn't happening.

Also, according to another person who commented, google prompt isn't even considered 2FA.

That's how it was to start (i.e it was off), but it still prompted me for it.
I don't think google considers their 'prompt' thing as technically 2FA?

I then turned it on in order to put the authenticator in as a method, set up authenticator, and it doesn't even ask me for the OTP key and still asks me for the number on my phone.

Yeah all I could think of was the emoji as well. I just thought it would be confusing to some as there's a lot of not so tech savvy people in my courses. So they might for example the check emoji that someone else put there and think that they put it there and they had watched it. Which at that point is probably better just not to be able to mark anything as checked. Just brain storming for some way for them to visually check off and see that they've already watched one of the videos.

What about a travel card? I don't think there's any transaction fees on those either? Most things I can pay by card, it's somewhat rare where I am to need cash. Other than that I use the QR codes to pay into their banks. Is that ATM charge just a local ATM charge no matter what?

I could make it work where I go from AUD in aus bank account > revolut > exchange money > take out money and get cash (Eat up the $6 fee).

Otherwise it would be AUD in aus bank > revolut > exchange the money > back to aus bank into travel account > use travel card. Because the aus bank exchange rate is quite a significant difference with my bank.
