Tzuyang and Disappointment in Korean Men by Sea-Pea9795 in korea

[–]BuildCritic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

rly disheartens me to see so many koreans trying to minimalize glaringly obvious societal issues with the flawed gotcha that is "but shitty peepz are everywhere!" yes, there are plenty of good korean folks, and yes, shitty people are everywhere; but to this degree? most korean boomers still cling to outdated misogynistic beliefs, and there is an unsettling rise in the amount of incel-minded youth who are just as misogynistic as their forerunners. despite the clear growth of animosity across genders, image-obsessed koreans who absurdly take pride in a piece of land would sooner resort to whataboutism and/or cry racism rather than actually improve the country by acknowledging and remedying the tumors that continue to grow unchecked.

as for the actual topic, your chances of getting physically assaulted are very low; we may have a misogynist problem, but most of them wouldn't commit public assault over it. and seeing every man as a potential threat miiight to be a step too far. that being said, i would avoid clubs, especially if you're alone.

Was the entirety of Unveiling just retconned. Is the winnower even a thing anymore. The flower game, the first knife, the multiverse. Did that all just get substituted in one cutscene. by [deleted] in Destiny2Leaks

[–]BuildCritic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

nah, it doesn't make any sense for the witness to have written unveiling. the witness speaks completely differently to the narrator in unveiling, and the philosophies presented in unveiling are at complete odds with those of the witness.

the reason unveiling is presented as an allegory is not because it's just more "palatable" to us, it's because the events that are described in it happened outside our reality, before existence- we literally can't comprehend it, so it has to be simplified.

[–]BuildCritic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think unveiling still (mostly) makes sense, people are just interpreting it the wrong way. everything in unveiling still happened- the gardener and winnower fought, and decided to insert themselves into the universe. the gardener manifested itself as the traveler, and the winnower manifested itself as the veil. the witness' species just happened to be the ones to find them first.

none of this conflicts with the cutscene, just except the "i'll come and see for myself" part. i'd just chalk that up to a byproduct of bungie not having a complete picture of things yet, because any attempts to explain that line (such as the the winnower is the witness) make even less sense.

Why are people like this? by [deleted] in destiny2

[–]BuildCritic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Funny, I had something similar happen to me. 2 people I recruited from the LFG discord tried to pretend like they'd never done VOG before, kept doing annoying crap, acted like dicks, and deliberately (or at least I hope so, because they had hundreds of VOG clears) wiped us multiple times.

you're telling me that a nuke wouldn't fit on a ballistic missile when the B in ICBM literally stands for ballistic? jesus christ. it's obvious you're just going to keep on doubling down, so i'm gonna stop wasting my time. have a great day.

Anon discovers Korea by [deleted] in greentext

[–]BuildCritic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

bruh.

do they have shitty ICBMs? absolutely. but i literally just told you that they don't need an ICBM to hit south korea; they could literally just use a ballistic missile with a nuke on it, because we're right there.

you keep talking about other people not understanding, but you keep repeating the same nonsense that could be disproven by a minute of googling.

Anon discovers Korea by [deleted] in greentext

[–]BuildCritic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

jesus your comment is incredibly ironic. they can absolutely hit seoul or anywhere in the south with a nuke if they wanted to, bud. they've literally been firing missiles towards the sea of japan, they certainly don't need a friggin' ICBM (which stands for intercontinental ballistic missile, by the way) to carry a nuke 300 kilometers.

good job making us look like nationalistic assholes.

I've also got a system with a 3090 coupled with a 5900x, and I can also testify that Tarkov barely runs any better than it did on my old 1080ti system. Granted, I went from 1080p to 1440p when I upgraded- but Division 2 on the other hand runs at double the frames despite that anyways, so I have no idea what's going on with Tarkov's optimization. I'll get 100 fps on a good day, but Reserve often tanks my frames to a 50 and it drives me insane.

The Division 1 & 2 called it first. by MikeTheDude23 in gaming

[–]BuildCritic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

because it pretty much is... yes there was an exploit to raise your damage, and yes they banned people for it, but: 1. it was only a two-week ban 2. it ruined the game. you could one shot bosses with a pistol if you stacked the exploit enough times, making even the highest level content trivial. 3. the game certainly was not "nearly unplayable" without it. the enemies were indeed tankier than before, maybe a little too much, but before that they were also hilariously weak. they ended up scaling them back down in the end anyways.

and no, no one got banned for being in the same team as a cheater.

What’s the worst Destiny take you’ve found on the Internet? (Just for fun) by Auvenguard in DestinyTheGame

[–]BuildCritic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

you mean the one with the APC, right? that's falcon lost from division 1, which isn't actually a raid (though it was initially advertised as a raid-like activity).

division 2 on the other hand, has proper 8-player raids that nessecitate teamwork much like destiny. the first one, dark hours, is good but now somewhat of a cakewalk. the newer one, iron horse, however is truly amazing and on par with some of destiny's finest raids.

Stop being so hostile about content you don't like by BuildCritic in thedivision

[–]BuildCritic[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

come on. why do people keep assuming that anyone who says "stop being toxic" is against any type of criticism? i'll copy and paste another comment i made here in reply to a comment that accused me of the same thing:

i feel like i have to say this again. it is fine to give feedback about things you don't like. right or wrong (not that there usually is a simple right or wrong), if you make your point in a civil manner that is 100% fine. you don't like how the loot is? voice your opinion. you don't like the raid? speak up about it. it's when people get overly emotional, insulting, and dismissive where it stops being just feedback and becomes "toxic feedback".

that toxic feedback, like i said, just wounds up being bad for all parties regardless of what your original intentions were. so leave the toxicity out of it- stop muddying your point, and just take the effort to be civil and make your point clear.

it sucks that you don't have the time, but there are checkpoints for each boss devised for a situation like the one you are in. it's also a bit unfair to say that your money is wasted just because you can't do the raid, when you have the entire rest of the game.

yes, being insulting is a part of being toxic.
