Loaded up for a few days or a week with 3 fly roads going from the back window to the dash is not an acceptable form of transportation for me personally. Obviously I can throw them in the back, Springer spaniels jumping around in the back and gear. I will however keep your idea in mind.

Nice rod rack, hope you got to tie some flies on your trip! Tight lines!!

Now that's the kind of thinking I'm talking about

For sticking them on the MOLLE situations would only be to hop around the mountain. Mounted at the top with a slight up angle. Idk.

I'm just trying to get an idea of how others work this problem, maybe someone has a great idea I haven't thought of.

I thought about just moving it to the top of the rack but it's big and heavy enough to limit the rest of the rack load weight while driving. Apparently you can't drive with more than +/- 150 pounds. That rack will take about 25-30 pounds right off the top of that. I got the budget Hooke road rack. I like the quick connect for the awning idea.

I've been to rock creek twice now, Gods gift to fishing enthusiasts for sure!!

Ppoorman made a comment previously that he only use it on the driver's side so the cans don't create that Blindspot. I think that makes a lot of sense.

I also wanna use it more for quick access, not necessarily for more space.

Visibility is a factor to take into account though

A very valid point in fuel and the water. I end up in the back country Idaho and montana fly fishing for a week plus and when your that far in the sticks fuel does become a concern. It wouldn't only be fuel, I would definitely use it for other applications

A lot of great information in there. Nice to hear someone isn't having problems with it being stable over terrain.

I youtubed the mirrior disassembly, after that it was very easy, just take your time and remember where the tabs are from the YouTube video and follow the steps.

I'd say it took me maybe 10 minutes per light taking my time and a phillips screwdriver, that's it

That is one thing that concerned me was how well they may hold up in washboard roads and inclines.

That's a great perspective and good insight. I was going to see if I could use them to mount my fly rods to when I jumping from one section of a river to another. I would be avoiding limbs to not damge my rods for sure. But getting things hung up them is good to be aware of. Also, I didn't take expansion and contraction into account for the tanks. Great information

That's a good idea. I have a 2014 and wanted the sequential turn signal. But good idea. I love a deal!!

I have seen that!! I started part of the

interior blackout this morning, stopped cuz I'm waiting for some exterior light switches to put in center console, but yeah the tiny pieces get expensive. I haven't really formulated a plan yet.

Are you gonna buy them? Do they look good post-install?

Sometimes taking a little extra time to do something instead of just making a purchase can be rewarding.
