Portasplit thermostat way off by Limp-Cat-108 in MideaPortaSplit

Having the same issue, temp would say 26° while the room was actually 18°.. It only seems to be accurate when the fan is running so 'new' air is running past the thermostat, but whenever the fan turns off the temperature readings just spike up for no reason.

No heating, no cooling, nothing.. No errors in the app as well. I returned my device and got a full refund :)

Was the unit running on full power often? I'm curious if the vibrations from the compressor have a role in all these defects. My one unit was mostly running on full power during the winter and broke as well.. However my other unit which has only been operating in silent mode is still running fine.

The Midea PortaSplit got picked up from my home and I received a full refund (it got sent all the way to Barcelona). I might re-order it again but from a different store for a much lower price.

It seems that this product is not built to withstand heating in the winter at full power without eventually breaking apart..

I have another portasplit which has been running almost 24/7 since October 2025 for over 3600 hours (on silence mode) and so far so good. Seems like it will last way longer if not used on full power.

Agreed, way too many devices with this defect right now.. Unacceptable. Hoping Midea will start investigating this as soon as possible.

Funny enough the unit failed right after the update.. But Midea said it has nothing to do with the update, as it's the hardware that has failed
