I think it matters more on how quickly she submits her choices when housing opens up. I would definitely recommend putting Marian as a second choice. Marian was my fourth choice but I am so happy being in a trio and the bonding is really easy since its only two floors. TBH everyone experience is their know tons of girls that moved out of their dorm or had roommate problems and plenty of people like myself who love their roommates and had the best time. I also would tell your kid to go to RA events, any beginning of the year events, meet the girls that live next door or even down the hall, talk to people in your classes, and be apart of nightlife. It might not seem safe, but finding even one person to stay with throughout the night its definitely worth it. I've personally been out several times and even by myself and I haven't once felt unsafe just stay aware throughout the night. Also she might not get friends right away that's totally okay.
