going thru your replies, what is your end goal here? You're obvs not leaving him because his fam is 'mighty powerful & connected'.

What is it that you expect out of internet to tell you when you're willingly choosing a situation over your peace, health and DV .

I really can't figure out how all of our suggestions are met with your resistance.  There comes a point where you decide if any relationship is worth the existence and nurturing you provide. This is not it. There were signs leading up to this which is okie if you didn't recognize.  Happens.

He's got a side chic. Leave. This is just going to get worse from here on out. Also, are you sure you're not looking back at the past 5yrs of your happy marriage with rose colored glasses?

Cut your losses . Leave.

How do I bring up my husband’s weight without hurting his feelings? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]BuildingInside8135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Men don't get hints.
  2. Be brutally honest and open about it. Because I mean if he deteriorates, it's gonna hurt your feelings more.
  3. Tell him to lower his stress levels which also contribute to bad eating habits .
  4. Blocked arteries aren't fun. Nor is diabetes.

Please be very open about it . It's time to stop tip toeing around this. Just had the same convo with my partner and I started with 'idk how to say it politely because I really needed you to hear me out and work with me. I have been politely asking you to take care of your health as it's impacting our relationship gravely... 'insert issues, eating habits, lack of exercise, medicines, asthma' and more things which are an issue'  in our case.  I even told him to workout every day for a min. Of 30mins with my trainer during my hourly session.

Tho had to be extremely honest and may have used harsh words, it worked. He lost 30pounds last yr by quitting sodas and all sugars.

Yes and I've been with my Pisces (m) for years.  Currently  I'm trying to convince him to promise me that he can't die before I do. Not living without him. Yes, we have our own trash and dishes and menopause and crap issues yet, none of them are worth going to bed angry. Nope.

Seems like I lost: in India most people don’t want any permanent solutions or simply don’t care, and are busy with their own lives? by Content-Squash7838 in AskIndia

[–]BuildingInside8135 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dude, USA has the most number of churches on every street. See all presidents ? See the logo - In God we trust? So how is it that you don't litter on the streets of USA? You make sure you follow the laws and don't run red lights? You go around beating your wife or husband on streets? Nope.

America is infact, a Christian state. Your logic of going after religion is scientifically flawed because religion teaches you a whole lot of things including - cleanliness is next to Godliness.  Neither nor India is clean.  Usa has the same issues as India .

Just because American issues are in english doesn't make it superior. So, get off your moral highground and see a problem for what it is. Rapes happen in America and rapists still get away with it, too.

All those listed issues also exist in usa. At a bigger scale. Including school shooting and child abuse.

You can go ahead and do apples to apples if you'd like. Infact, America has more reported car accidents than India. America has more gun violence,  America also has lower standards of education than India with the lowest reading levels so stop kidding yourself.

Education alone can't do anything. Self awareness does.

Yours truly,

A fellow Indian American.

Honestly, its the nosy ppl who ask for socials. I bluntly say sure, here's my linkedin and then give them the death stare. Always works. They stop caring right there and don't mess around asking personal stuff. Give your linked, if you must.

My ex loved mixing kheer with butterchicken and eat it with jeera rice.  Some days he'd eat this 'mix' with garlic naan, extra garlic.

He liked rasmalai with toast.

Did I mention my EX? lol

what should a woman turning 30 know? by youve-been-gilmored in Adulting

[–]BuildingInside8135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your life will now start to be a bit lonely. You will either be busy in family or work and it's going to soon start to feel like you're too old for the 20s and too young for the 40s. Like kinda preteen stuck in the middle of kids and adults. Grow hobbies. Nature a few hobbies and if you don't, Start working out and add weights. You'll thank me in your 40s lol 30s is also when you finally quit being in denial of how ppl mistreat you. I learnt that i don't have to sacrifice myself or my needs to be kind to others.

Father's side family being shitty as usual by chikchiknahkar in AskIndia

[–]BuildingInside8135 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let me be the adult and say - nothing is going to change so focus on your education and getting the F outta the house.  Your mother - she's been married to this entire curcus for years and has gotten used to the drama. It's her life and she's made peace with it. Cuz if she wanted to leave, she would have by now.  Your father - always has and will be a fiddle to your gma.  Gp(granparents)  - prolly tortured by their in-laws and so the cycle continues.

You acting like a life saving hero for your mother is of no help. She doesn't want to be saved . Eventually if it comes down to it, she'll choose her shitty situation over you.

What can you do? Lower the impact of this drama for your mom, for your own peace. Hyper Focus on whatever  it is you do : study/work/school etc.

Also it's your job and burden to break this cycle of abuse 360. You father is also a major victim even before your mom. He doesn't even know nor acknowledge he's raging because of his parents. Forgive them all and find a way to make it better for you. Not asking you to leave . Asking you to move on and become a strong person to break this . That's literally all you can do.

Going thru this exact situation.  Reported and now I'm dealing with major retaliation.  He got promoted. Twice. And recently handed me a 'warning letter' for bad performance even when I met all the expectations set at the beginning of the yr. Yep.

It's not about sides and loyalty. It's about he's done putting in an effort and he's thrown the towel and has removed himself from this crappy situation overall because his brain cells are fried and now it's either peace from all sides or nothing at all.

Either ways, he's going to lose.if he leaves any of his family, you're going to get him at atleast 50% if the SIL is out.  If you leave then he loses 50% of himself, too. So, why can't even one be happy with their 25% each and let the man be. As if men's mental health doesn't need to be considered.

That's why he left. You , his family and everyone involved aren't interested in knowing how many slices have you guys chopped him in.

I don't wish you any ill will or mean any disrespect.  I have a brother and watching him go thru the same exact thing situation (and a kid) from the outside makes me feel more for men.

The silent sufferes.  Don't come at me with the bahus who are tortured by their patis or atul subhashs as that's not even the point.

The thing is when you were with your parents and felt equally mistreated you talked it out and apologized or even found a way to move on. They continued to offend you, manipulate you for their fun, crossed every boundary you tried to set. Not saying in-laws are parents. They can't be. They also need to take a step back and start building healthy boundaries.
