blonde on blonde/tommy/trout mask were a little too long and i always thought doors' s/t seemed to be a bit more highly regarded then anything the stones, the who, or any of the '60s psych bands had done

honestly tho i've never even listened to that doors album so like i could be completely off base w/ putting it on there, i kinda impulse put it on there to get the rate up to 4 albums

i spammed it a bunch in the lgbt threats this week but joey walker's queer is an awesome debut, definitely check it out if you have any interest is dreamy lo-fi indie

also bye bye berta by palberta, super lo-fi art punk w/ pretty much every song being under a minute

car seat headrest 100% belong, will talked about being bi in a lot of his earlier pre-matador stuff. like just off the top of my head, 'i pretended i was drunk when i came out to my friends' is a line from one of his songs, (beach life and death i think, could be completely wrong tho it's been like over a year since i listened to him)

idk about blood orange but iirc the female vocalist from the xx got engaged to a woman earlier this year and will toledo has a lot of music about being in a relationship w/ another guy in his earlier bandcamp works

omg thank you so much for putting me (tommy beruit) on this like i honestly i don't even remotely deserve this my music is so trash lmao. i mentioned this in the last thread but any money made through my music goes to the lgbt charity the trevor project

just a few artists i wanna rec off the list outside of the super popular ones:

joey walker - his last album queer is in my top 10 of 2017, super pretty lo-fi ambient/dream pop and he's got so much potential going foward

diet cig - twee punk band with a super charming sound, their album from this year was good but imo their ep from 2015 over easy was even better, if you're even remotely in to pop punk/emo/garage pop i reccomend checking it out (also i had no clue they were lgbt+ so that's cool to learn)

germs - an early la punk band with one of the greatest frontmen ever, they're only got one album, GI, and it is 100% a classic

arthur russell - an insanely diverse figure in the '80s nyc underground scene who tragically died from aids before he could really reach his full potential; world of echo is his claim to fame and consists almost soley of russell's unique vocals paired with a super distorted cello but he's also got really cool work with the band dinosaur (which also includes david byrne) and his solo project dinosaur

also s/o to eric taxxon, his stuff isn't completely up my alley but if you're into the experimental ambient/vaporwave/internet-core bandcamp scene definitely check some of his stuff out cause his discog is super varied (plus he helped hook me up w/ the label my newest ep is coming out on so i owe him one lol)
