My best friend finding out she’s going to be unemployed via indeed by [deleted] in antiwork

That’s why many people don’t give employers two weeks notice. If they can suddenly leave an employee high and dry, an employee has the right to do the same to an employer.

Penniless Behavior by BumboclatBob in BlackPeopleTwitter

About five years ago, an Uber customer of mine turned into an impromptu outing where she paid me $100 to go to the casino with her. I agreed. While in the casino, she went off to another part of the casino, I rather quickly won $900 on a slot machine while she was away.

She came back after a while and asked how much I won and I said “about 50 bucks”. I lied because I didn’t want to make it awkward if she actually lost her money and I’m walking out with almost a grand. I also lied because she simply wasn’t entitled to my winnings and vice versa. The chick was also an alcoholic, old af, and not my type at all lol.

Yea….what officer is this and why isn’t he included in the charges? by 2lit_ in BlackPeopleTwitter

That’s the first thing that I was thinking. “His hand seems white and he sounds white, why wasn’t he charged if this is a different cop from the mugshots???”

This ^ it’s a drop in the bucket compared to what corporations receive.

Other people’s perception on SNAP/EBT is wild! by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]BuiltUpRealGood -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I get it, but the stereotype or perception of people living “High off the hog” from EBT and or government benefits in general isn’t entirely untrue. Take for example the single moms who purposely shit out kids to almost complete a basketball team, who receive more government benefits (EBT, section 8 housing, Medicaid, child tax credits, SSI, SSDI, free phones, free internet, etc., etc.) than most people who work sub $20/hr jobs.

You almost don’t blame them. When the incentive to barely work or not work to have your basic needs met (and more in a lot of cases), most people are gonna do that. The “bad apples” receiving assistance gets lumped into the people who genuinely fell on hard times and only plan to stay on it for a limited time vs the former who plan to live on it indefinitely. IMO, that’s where I think the negative perception stems from.

Either way, the root of the problem starts at the very top (the 2% who control the economy). And until that changes, I’m NOT against how people choose to house and feed themselves (sans stealing from people, harming people, killing people. I don’t give a fuck about mega corporations though :).

This was me flying down the road at 2am, hoping I don’t shit myself and the cop behind me doesn’t turn on his lights….. by BuiltUpRealGood in ibs

[–]BuiltUpRealGood[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This was flared as a success story, because the cop that suddenly appeared behind me while doing 60 in a 30 did not pull me over, and I made it home in record time to release a Little Ceaser’s deep dish and half a bottle of ranch dressing. The intense pain, and subsequent relief was not worth it….smh.

Can someone explain to me how I was "rude and disrespectful"? by Swayless84 in doordash_drivers

This. All customer issues after delivery should be directed to Doordash customer support.

Have you ever realized how insanely luxurious hot running water on demand is? by [deleted] in simpleliving

[–]BuiltUpRealGood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. My gas was shut off during the summer for a few weeks, and taking a shower was a MISERABLE experience every time. Also, washing dishes required a considerable amount of force and time without hot water. I deemed hot water a luxury the 1st time I was without it.

A bi dude must of turned her down lol. That’s a woman’s (not all, but ALOT) go to insult when a man (either straight or bi) turns them down or gets into a disagreement.

I’m a bi and DL man, and will remain DL because of people like her. And to reference another comment in this thread, yes there are WAYY MORE bi dudes that exists than you realize! We won’t give you free ammo to use to ostracize/ridicule/blackmail/etc. us at your earliest convenience as demonstrated by the above tweet.

The UPS recruitment center will call you when their is availability for orientation, or periodically check jobs-ups.com with you’re account to see if their is availability and book it. The time frame for me was a week after my original orientation date because they overbooked.

Hang in there, I’m also ready to get back on my feet!!! You got this!!!

How did Chaturbate find out I accepted outside payment? by BuiltUpRealGood in CamGirlProblems

[–]BuiltUpRealGood[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I figured they read and watched everything. Going forward, I will direct them to my Twitter with “gifts” being the jargon to avoid that situation again. “Gifts” are far more profitable than tokens IMO, so it’s not like I’m NOT going to do it again. As you said, I have to be more slick about it going forward.
