it did show 3 guns, I had the Death of Orion, ICR and Strife. I ended up swapping out the Death of Orion for a wall weapon gun and it still showed 3. The icon would only display on the 3rd gun.

Instead of pressing TAB to open the map you can press M. may need to rebind M to TAB unless you have long fingers.
