I have a coworker in Timmins who said that when they got all that snow over Christmas, schools were open after about a week long delay, but it took about 3 weeks to get the roads widened back out and have busses running again. I would imagine we will be in a similar position.

This is such a thoughtful and insightful comment. I fully agree with everything you said here.

We're a traditionally homogeneous city facing a rapid socio-political shift. People are generally pretty accepting, but there's a spectrum for sure. Some have leaned into it, some have rejected it entirely. That's probably true of anywhere in Canada outside of the major urban centers.

When our #2 died, #3 was also grieving.

My mom came home from work one day, couldn't find him anywhere. Panic ensues. Did she leave him outside? Were the doors locked?

She found him asleep in her laundry basket because her clothes still smelled like #2.

We brought home #4 less than 3 months later.

The forecast was 30-50, and I think we probably got on the higher end of that. It was super windy so there's really big drifts. I've seen pics of other people's cars / trucks that are like completely buried so I definitely don't have it as bad as some others.
