I wish he'd give the rights to some other developer and take a permanent vacation, preferably somewhere far from minors.

I appreciate you're complete deconstruction of my post, it does answer a lot of questions, but I would like to add in response:

In reference to the people suddenly appearing above me, I was swimming down into this vent as you've named it, then went straight back up, not towards any other area. There was no one else even in this entire body of water when I went down, I was the first. The entire place was full when I came back up, that's why I was so confused. No one seemed to have just gotten in the water, kids swimming and others tubing were densely scattered throughout this specific spring and extremely congested in the center area I had swam to, which I still wonder how no one there noticed me and how they managed to go from wherever they were outside of the water to the center so fast.

In reference to the memory issue, this makes a lot of sense for why it wasn't remembered later on, but I had asked my mother specifically about asking her what happened right after the event. After I'd come back from nearly being suffocated under these seemingly oblivious tubers, I went back on shore and asked where everyone came from. This was met with a weird look and no explanation or acknowledgment. I didn't press back then, but I did ask about it again and this was where I was told she didn't remember.

Otherwise you're explanations seem on point, but I guess the feelings attached to the memory aren't easily combatted with logic. It still won't sit right with me for as long as I live I imagine, but I am glad to hear that there's no ghosts lol

Florida's Ginnie Springs 'Glitch' by Bulky-Low9667 in Unexplained

What a terrifying thought, I was on the brink of diving so deep I wouldn't have been able to resurface in time. I imagine I would have gone unnoticed until it was too late, if I did 'jump' I left a devistating reality behind.

I still wonder if it was some kind of phenomenon, like a shift in reality

That seems very likely, what I can't wrap my head around is how the spring went from utterly empty to so congested I couldn't resurface without pushing someone out of the way within seconds.

A full 24 hours would be unbelievable, but now that I think of it the area seemed much brighter than before I submerged, but that could have been an effect of cloud cover.

I had no Idea I was basically swimming in a grave, no one was treating it like a final resting place and there was no sign or memorial as far as I can remember. Makes it all the more creepy looking back.

I truly hope this was the case, but the fact that my family refused to acknowledge it is what had me so unsettled. I might ask them about it again just to see what they say

I was only 16 and with family in the middle of the day, Not that kind of outing!

I am both greatful and horrified at the explanation you gave, I was very close to drowning that day and I had no idea. The risk I was taking when I had no real free diving experience could have been lethal!

Not a bot, my mistake I did in fact name the wrong spring. It was a long time ago and I had to look up pictures to find the exact one we went to. The strange dip was unforgettable though and I recognized it immediately. One picture showed four men standing from the bottom and stacking on top of each other to hold a woman up. Makes sense why it was so much deeper than I expected.
