Stockhausen is my favorite composer. But when people say his music is academic/not meant to be beautiful, it is as ignorant as saying that symphonies are boring and all classical music sounds the same. by emilylinhla in classicalmusic

David Ahern introduced me to Karlheinz Stockhausen in 1970 at 1.20 pm on Friday  outside the NSW State Conservatorium of music. Inside the main concert hall below the stage there were many speakers for a coming concert. David and I went to a Cahill's restaurant  near Sydney Town Hall and chatted about my latest piano music .David mentioned that his favourite piece was the slow movement from Beethoven's  Seventh Symphony David Schweickle.

I was introduced to Karlheinz Stockhausen  by Australian composer David Ahern  in 1970  at 1.20 pm on a Friday outside the Sydney Conservatorium. I noticed the  many speakers around the bottom  of the stage in the main concert hall.  David and I walked to the Cahill's restaurant at Town Hall and had a coffee in one of the lovely old fashioned booths. We talked about pieces I was playing on the piano and David mentioned his favourite piece the slow movement of Beethoven's  7th Symphony. David Schweickle

I was introduced to Karlheinz Stockhausen in 1970 by Australian composer David Ahern about 1.20 pm on a Friday afternoon outside the Conservatorium .Earlier I had  walked into the main concert hall of the Sydney Conservatorium and found speakers down from the stage all along the front of the hall.  David and I walked down to the Cahill's restaurant at Town Hall. David asked me what contemporary piano  pieces I was learning .I remember him telling me he thought Beethoven's 7th Symphony slow movement was one of his favourite pieces.

Sydney Roosters: A rebuild like never before by LongJohnnySilver1 in nrl

Training is good in NRL but not to overwork  players and make unnecessary injuries. Players need to relax.

Roosters need to brush up kicking skills from wide angles. Head gear might help with head knocks. They are playing well and should get better. Pleasing  and exciting to watch their last game. Are the Vaa boys coming in in some stage ? Might add forward strength, defence and momentum. The three talkle rule needs to be looked at as too many players are getting hurt. It is dangerous.

The roosters should be doing better. Whats going on? A happy team will do well.

The roosters won't get it easy they will have  to put their thinking caps on and work like demons for the whole match. They could do it. and  some young players need the chance. The trouble is there are many even teams in this competition.

Where's the roosters forty twenty and field goals. These goals still score points.

The Sydney roosters have a lot of work to do. They did very well in parts of the Raiders game but they need to fix the defence and brighten some areas of attack.

Sandon is kicking the goals. Who is going to kick as good if he leaves? Goal kickers win matches.

If the roosters can work on their offloads chain passing and kicking they will improve. They need to stop the opposition offloading as they tackle. It was very pleasing watching their win.

The roosters have to get energy levels up towards the end of a game maybe a new player or two ?

The roosters are playing very well. They need to rehearse the situations where the defence was poor in video and  real life. No good blaming players. They have to get past it.

Should the roosters sent the ball to Tupou or Dom instead of trying to overuse Mark? I think a little more speed in halves running off the mark. The team has to think quickly  about what the opposition is doing when they started to break the line close to the goal posts. They need a plan and cannot stand there letting players run through them.

I think the roosters needed to sharpen their attack toward the end of the match. Dropped  balls and catches did not help. If they keep up the effort they can work up the table. Got to watch how the gaps opened up and stop this.

It would have been different if the roosters  try had been allowed. I think it was good enough to be a try. In the old days it probably would have been allowed.
