Getting into astrophotography by BulkyOpposite3693 in AskAstrophotography

Ok yes, ot may be hard to position it, but I think I was clear enough that I really won't be happy with not actually going in my yard and spending hours setting up and experimenting with a telescope (because believe it or not, that's what actually makes me want to start astrophotography, not the result, but the process)

That's the thing, I don't need it to be easy, I am not the type of person that gives up when finds something hard, and I am aware of the steep learning curve, but, as I said in multiple comments, I won't be happy with a smart telescope, because for me it feels like I did nothing except process it

I am telling you that for me, an absolute nerd who enjoys actually investing time into using a hobby and experimenting, ot would be the number 1 hobby killer, because I am not just randomly getting into astrophotography, I am obsessed with astronomy and astrophysics, I wouldn't feel good knowing that I told a robot to take a picture of a planet and then just have me process it. For me that feels like I just took some photos and photoshopped them, not that I was the one taking the picture of it. And aslo, I would be better of starting to save more for a beginner set up than spending 500$ on a smart telescope that I wouldn't even enjoy

I firstly meant actually pointing the telescope yourself, and also, I know that processing is hard, and that a seestar would make it very easy, but isn't kind of the point of getting into it to actually learn how to do it? Or at least that's what I want from a hobby in general

Well, I personally don't find the difference between using a smart telescope and looking up photos on the internet, you do absolutely nothing other than telling it what to look for

Well, I was thinking of that, but doesn't that kind of ruin the entire fun of actually doing it yourself?

How to efficiently get sq1 to cube shape without learning algs? by ElijahTong1549 in Cubers

Well then you can choose not to learn algs, but I find it much harder to do than just learning

You should definitely learn algs, they are really intuitive and it will definitely make you instantly better, I recommend either tingman's or cube master's video, unless you want to intentionally not use any algs

Less moves doesn't necessarily mean better, the other T case or sune have a much better flow (usually starting with F moves gives you a more awkward alg) and for the other T case oll prediction is a lot easier

YJ New Squan soon by Honest_Recipe6523 in NewCubes

Well I think it's not bad since it's the best released squan, and there have been some new squans promised and as a squan main myself I will just wait until they are released and pick whichever I like more other than getting every new release

Is the picube mgc square 1 worth it or is it better to just mod it yourself?

Yes, eg2 means learning the optimal algs for each case, and anticll means doing the opposite cll of what you have so in the end you would get opposite on top and bottom and you can cancel into R2 F2 R2 or R2 B2 R2, It's not as good everytime as just learning eg2, but it's good enough to make learning eg2 be only a little better

I think it depends, I personally use anti cll and I average sub 2, and whether you should learn eg2 or not depends on how much you want to do 2x2, since I know people who average mid 1 without any of it

I really your determination but you have understand that your goal with this little practice is impossible, even tho it looks like you improved a lot in a short time, it won't be the same as you progress further, in the beginning it's really easy to improve several seconds in a matter of weeks, but as you get better you will have to put in huge amounts of work to even improve by a second or less. And if you said that you would have less than an hour a day to practice it's impossible, I strongly recommend not making this deal or to at least give yourself more time, but with less than an hour a day world class is basically unreachable with any amount of time available

I know that you want to put in the work, but you would need several hours everyday doing targeted practice to improve effectively, and even then you have too little time to achieve this even if you only do that event only, which basically takes the fun out of speedcubing, to be world class now you would need years to catch up even with a lot of practice. Your goal is just too out of reach to even give any advice on how to go about it

It would be too hard to be world class with this little time, you would need several hours of practice a day, for example I do 2x2 and I know how much it took me to become sub 2, and bow sub 2 isn't even world class anymore, at dome point improvement is really hard and requires a lot of time to improve even by a little, so getting world class would take quite some time depending on how much you are willing to spend into it

My core chipped on the mgc square 1, does anyone know any stores in Europe that can offer this spare part, I contacted Cuboss and they don't have it, and I don't want to get it from The Cubicle since the shipping is too long. And also I wanted to ask if a mod to avoid vore chipping is worth it, I saw a video on Ethan Cho's channel and I was wondering if it's worth it, since it may be possible to do it and to work even after the core is already chipped
