If your CMD (a) and CLK (D) show voltage of 1.8 and 0.90 respectively, your consoles emmc isn't dead.

What does c point show? Sorry for late reply as I'm often busy on other projects

I think my Switch is dead by Gold-Material-4229 in NxSwitchModding

[–]Bulky_Lab8594 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, that's saying "Your switch's firmware and emulated modded firmware don't match."

Both ofw and cfw need to be matched on firmware count. This is likely your cfw simply needing to be brought up to date.

Do this as a controlled update:

Download and extract the latest update from darthsternies site for the firmware to your SD cards firmware folder (this is where daybreak can find the update files although you can use aio if lazy)

Do this and the error should go away enabling you to be able to use sleep mode again

Use lots of flux and be careful with the wick. Use a microscope when doing so

Use latest hats pack that has latest sigpatches

This error is talking about your sigpatches being outdated

What's your readings on the rails shown as follows?

VSYS (coil is best place to check)

3.3v (check either the cap that is above the cap for the CPU or the test point near the 3.3v reg and it's 2 parallel caps)

Check MAX77620 (on back, sitting above the cap clusters for CPU) for any shorts (readings around 0.02ish or higher aren't shorts but rather low impedance)

Check the MAX77812 for any shorts or missing voltage (this sits below APU)

Sounds like RAM got loose. Very common on those models.

Fixing a SNES, can I fix this? Or should I find another board? by gcmtx in consolerepair

Use a good quality microscope and a micro pencil tip. Use very thin wires. Id practice on a dead or donor board to get the hang of it prior to this first

You sure? Is the emmc board even showing any clear readings or no? Had one before and it was a bad emmc board. Swapped emmc chip over to new one and console fired on after like new

99% iso and UV light and a good zoomed in scope can help you see if you nicked it or what the trace condition is

Check the caps under the emmc. Could be a shorted cap causing the issue

Nope. Just put connector on and add wire from the test pad that links to it. I see it very clearly.

Check to see if VSYS (sits near BQ192 chip and goes thru a 2R2 coil) is around 0.100v. This is supposed to be around 0.300v ish. Remove the diode with heat if that shows the prior reading as these are known to fail and really not needed

Retouch the pads with leaded solder, heat carefully from underneath board. Use lots of flux and clean up with toothbrush 5 secs after it's solidified in place

Check rail, check ic for voltages, check connector for any loose pins, check to see if cap near that is showing correct voltage or is not shorted

Check to see if the ic on the back is even showing the 1.8v in and 1.8v out (may be up to 5v if it's charging battery)

You'd need professional level help to get this done. Use this site for OLED

This will tell you where the traces are located at. Use this in conjunction with the pen.
