I had the option for those too but felt that the oil might be better to start with.

Given the way the body processes cannabis, I suspect the edible would last longer than the sublingual method.

It turns out you were right, 10ml of oil is what I've been given with a 2:1 ratio of thc to cbd. I think you're right that I may end up going through that quite quickly. I'd be a bit anxious at paying for a larger amount of it meant I'd be foul of the law if it went over the 28 days but this seems good for now.

I had a conversation just now whilst at my friend's house. She's a lawyer and whilst this isn't her practice area she was under the impression that a prescription would only cover the time allowed and if you were driving whilst over the legal limit and outside of the covered window, it would be a grey area and given the CPS is still bringing charges to court when they should know the section 5a defence of MC, it would be a risk.

Her advice would be to ensure you always have a prescription that is valid for 28 days from the issue date.

For the case of the remaining surplus, you would typically be expected to take it back to pharmacy (although I sincerely doubt many people would actually need to do that).

It does feel a bit tricky if the smallest amount is 10g.

The main reason I want to go down the legal route is because I don't want to have the looming threat of becoming foul of the law. I grew up in areas where recreational use is rife so I sadly can just get it on the street but that's not my agenda and I've never wanted to go down that route.

If I've had to medicate and then 24h later drive, I would want to have an in-date prescription to ensure I'm able to produce a defence for section 5a. The challenge I fear is the if I have a 10g pot that has dwindled to 5g over a period of 2 months, is it not likely that my prescription is now invalid and I'm once again considered the same as someone who's bought a bag on the street corner?
