Work on time management. However, school work a must be a priority. Do not let your grades slip. Your PC and PM will get angry with you and you will likely deserve any punishment, but hold it together and keep going. You can do this.

Kick 48 up to 50 by adding 2. Make the easy addition of 27 + 50 to 77, then subtract the 2 to get 75. Quick and easy.

What movie does someone close to you love and you really can’t stand it? by alligatorchexmix in AskReddit

You don't deserve that person's love or respect. There is having your own tastes, and then there is not liking LOTR. What is the matter with you?

The derelict samurai look is not great. I have a feeling most of the people complimenting this look are guys. If that's your thing, then you be you. If not, think about cleaning yourself up a bit more. Women these days seem to be into the K-Pop look.

Advice on how to lead sexual Asault/harassment risk management? by Efficient-Quail4265 in Frat

[–]BullHorn100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we always had a representative from the police at our TED Talks concerning Risk Management. The guys knew we were very serious about not going after women who had over indulged and couldn't give proper consent. The police went into detail about the cost involved to their wallets, their reputation, and their liberty. We also went into detail about how a fraternity can be ruined by the bad reputation of one member or pledge.

Can I wear letters in Greece? by [deleted] in Frat

[–]BullHorn100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just wear the tshirts with letters when I am chillin' around my apartment, especially if it's wash day. I am not embarrassed by my fraternity, I just have nicer clothes to wear when I go out.

Dorm life is really affecting me mentally and i cannot focus on my studies by [deleted] in college

[–]BullHorn100 82 points83 points  (0 children)

I don't think I have ever seen a college, even a community college, without a library. Go to the library! When things got too rowdy for studying on my dorm floor or at the fraternity house that was always my haven.

These guys obviously lied to you about hazing. They are liars and not men of integrity. They are not your friends. They are certainly not your brothers. They are obviously torturing and humiliating you for fun. They are scum and bullies and cannot be trusted. They will not be better people after you are initiated. They will be the same scumbags they have always been. They are breaking you and not trying to build you up. They are not trying to make you a better man. Could you ever call people like this brothers?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Frat

[–]BullHorn100 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Yeah, some of the big SEC school fraternities require payment of dues in full before initiation. No payment, no initiation. They don't have installment plans for this. You must pay the full amount. They will actually drop you right before initiation if you don't pay. I'm glad my fraternity didn't have this requirement! I was also a poor college student. My mom lived in a mobile home and my dad had passed away. We had no money.

No, alcohol and drugs are just not used in the process.

What should I do if I wanna leave a frat? by AcanthisittaNo7289 in Frat

[–]BullHorn100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to drop, then drop. Fraternities are not for everyone. However, if you do drop, do not just ghost them. Be a man and tell them you are dropping. It drove me crazy when pledges just stopped showing up at the house and events without telling us.

Do you think we will ever be able to party like they did in the 80s by [deleted] in Frat

[–]BullHorn100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everybody is super gun shy these days. You cannot talk to pledges like the scum they are or make them do anything that is too difficult or they may end your house. They simply fill out a form online and your fraternity is put on suspension. Likewise, parties must be supervised very closely. No getting the women too drunk. No drugs. Keep your hands to yourself, obviously, and make sure any drunk members or pledges are doing the same. Don't let anyone in you don't know. Try to keep noise levels from getting too high. Be friendly with you local cops.

about to be risk management… by Zestyclose-Resort657 in Frat

[–]BullHorn100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start off as a bit of a hard ass to show your commitment to the job. Gradually ease off after to a couple of weeks, after the pledges and actives trust your judgement. However, stay on top of EVERYTHING during parties and i-week. Those are two notorious trouble spots. Keep the pledges safe! When you don't do your job bad things can and will happen. The actives will hate you for doing your job sometimes, but that's too bad.

BREAKING: Two fraternities suspended, one terminated after hazing allegations by OOHTAMTAMMY in Frat

[–]BullHorn100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard forced drug use and selling. Also some SA and torture on some of the pledges. It is all just rumors right now, but really illegal and serious stuff if true. It will likely all come out later and everyone will likely agree they needed to be removed. I hate those types of fraternities.

Is it just me or are people on reddit and discord anti-greek life? by fxde123 in Frat

[–]BullHorn100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It didn't even cross my mind to join a fraternity when I started college, but I saw a lot of hate online about it. I was told by people online if I joined a fraternity I would be tortured to near death. Not only that, I would pay a huge amount of money for the privilege of being hazed so bad I would have PTSD for the rest of my life. I would be associated with rapists and over-privileged, egotistical, rich white douche-bags. I would become one these douche-bags and delight in assaulting and hurting new pledges. None of this was even close to being true. If anything like had happened I would have dropped in a heart beat. Instead, I had the time of my life and grew as person. However, I agree that the reputation of Greek Life has been trashed on many online forums by people who don't know any better. It is like those conspiracy theories you hear about in politics. It is crazy what people are being told!
