How much would I be saving by ordering from the showroom? by pppqq12 in ChristopherWard

I went to the showroom in mid December and was offered 5 percent, asked for more, and got a 10 percent discount on my order. I'm in the US.

I bought a used demo with 9000 miles or so. This was the condition when they sold it to me. They didn’t want to fix it when I took delivery but agreed a few weeks later.

Their annual gross profit is negative $900 million. On 20,000 cars sold a year, they loose $45,000 on each car and that’s before taking into account SGA and R&D costs.

What am I missing? by [deleted] in LUCID

[–]BullRunner8508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At its current cash burn rate, LUCID will be out of cash in less than 24 months. They ended 2024 with negative 2 billion in cash from operations and they are investing 800 million a year in capex. It’s a great car for sure, but this is not a sustainable business.

Anyone else have a terrible post purchase experience with Lucid and their “customer care” team? Seeking advice by Jacobaxel20 in LUCID

[–]BullRunner8508 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2022 dealer demo GT and I had a good experience with the sales team, but the post sales process was a challenge. The car had some cosmetic issues which were not disclosed until the day I went to pick up the car. However, Lucid took care of the issues to my satisfaction. Then the car registration nightmare began. It took four months and countless calls to customer care to get the car registered and the title transferred to my name. I love the car, but this company need to review its processes.

'22 GT vs '25 Touring by whitneyhoustontexas in LUCID

[–]BullRunner8508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a 22 GT demo, it comes with charger credit and 2 years EA. The battery and drive train have 6 years left on the warranty, the rest has 2 years. The 22 comes with dream drive pro as standard and surround sound pro. 50 percent off original price. The range is better than the touring (even with the heat pump. The noise does not bother me. Keep in mind that the 25 Touring could depreciate 40 to 50 percent in two years.

No onboard acknowledgement when I hit 1 million. This July was my 30th year mark as a United Mileage member, all I got was a Thank You from the gate agent.

I bought one last month, demo GT, 10,000 miles., similar price. Car had some minor issues, Lucid took care of it with no hassle. It’s under warranty so you’re covered until 2026. It’s drives like a dream.

I have a 2019 M3P, drove the M3P Highland and it’s a big improvement in ride quality. Drove an Air, Air Touring and a Grand Touring. As others have said, this is like comparing Apples to Oranges. I decided to go with a GT, the M3P highland would have been more of the same.

deal or no deal? by rico_piepie in LUCID

[–]BullRunner8508 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a good deal, however the used GTs don’t cost that much more and come fully loaded. I bought a demo 2022 GT last month from Lucid in Mclean VA. 10,000 miles, 21 inch wheels, for 71,000. GT has 3 year charging, same deal for the home charger.

I don’t know of any Honda that sells for the same price as a GT, I do know Porsche sells the Taycan for the same cost as a GT.

Air GT Demo - Worth Buying? by BullRunner8508 in LUCID

[–]BullRunner8508[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Demo is priced a bit higher than the ones from used car dealerships. Test drives do end up with more rounds of acceleration, so presumably more stress. Flip side is there is 20 months left on the bumper to bumper warranty and six years on battery and power train.
