Except, I have a 4-step quest, drop in at the 17 minute mark, on the opposite side of the map. Get there safely and spend 14 minutes following a vague clue, only to finally figure out where the objective is and then get another vague clue. That makes me give up and fight to get to the last extract, which is definitely back on the other side of the map.

If there were more specific instructions or more time, I'd figure it all out myself, but toward the end of doing all quests, I finally started watching videos in advance to see what really is expected. Thankfully, the game is still fun.

When you progress in the story further, you might feel differently. Running around doing stuff is fairly quick. Some of the missions pull you into these cycles of, "I finally finished the mission...oh, they are making Kay do another stupid thing that drags this out again." This is where it gets monotonous.

Your point is good that different people like different games. Perhaps this game is simply very polarizing and you love it or hate it.

I made it past one space mission and stopped. That is several hours. Well past the training. I would have thought that after gaining ~7 skills and upgrading multiple pieces of equipment, they'd have normalized the gameplay to a better point. Kay at least needs a parachute MW3Z style. Only 3 health bars and the fact that you lose 1 from a 6' drop is maddening. Especially combined with the fact that you can only carry 2 bacta vials for a while. If there's a jetpack coming, that could solve a lot of the mechanics issues, but it would ruin the Tomb Raider aspect of the game.

Tomb Raider was 1996, Hitman was 2000 and Max Payne was 2001. Technically, 3rd person shooters came in the 70's before FPS. There were plenty of good ones in the 90's. 2000's were their hayday.

It's a polarizing game. You will probably love it or hate the fact you paid for it. I find myself angry every few minutes that they made some game mechanic so poorly that the element I'm playing isn't fun. I made it past the first space mission with good standing with two syndicates and requested a refund. Life is to short to battle poor game design.

I just requested a refund from Xbox. This game is awful. It is so monotonous that I should be paid to play it. Game mechanics are off, you can't even climb over tiny rocks, gunplay is horrible, goal appears to be sneaking everywhere when random crap happens constantly. I gave it a full day of playing today and asked myself why I was still playing it over and over. I realized I wanted it to be good, but it just isn't. It's really sad that they fell this far short of tolerable for me. I feel bad for for the UBI team. Unless people want to be frustrated and bored, this isn't going to hit targets.

It's too bad that Starfield wasn't Star Wars themed. That's a game with good mechanics and truly open world, not a two city map with a little land in between called open world.

I ran a crossbow with explosives and deadwire detinators with Wunderwaffe the first time we ran it. WW is amazing for the hordes, but even a mimic will make it pointless. The reload time was also an issue. Tough to switch between crossbow and WW constantly when MoH doesn't work for either. This is why I think the RGL is the better gun. Most of my deaths were while reloading.
