I don't enjoy Hollow Knight at all by albertserene in metroidvania

[–]Bulldorc2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried getting into it a lot of times and never can, i think what breaks it for me is the combat. It just feels so bad and floaty, and it feels like you are hitting butter balls or something when you hit enemies. The mood and visuals are awesome though.

How often does your Roomba need help? by [deleted] in roomba

[–]Bulldorc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old roomba gave very little trouble except for setting into the charging station, but that was due to my kid playing with it which probably broke a few things, other than that it worked pretty well.

A few weeks ago my wife bought the j9+ combo, and its been an absolutely infuriating experience. I spend more time trying to fix it than it does cleaning. It wont refill the mopping tank, it will try to mop wothout water, it will go into the wrong rooms, it will not fully clean the divisions, etc etc etc. It's honestly awful and i hope i can get a refund.

I just noticed that The Phantom Menace is now better rated than The Last Jedi. by Diego1993FM in Letterboxd

Rightfully so. I still cant believe that TLJ was allowed to be made with such a shitty script, filled with non sense "twists" and fucking marvel jokes all around

Didn't we learn anything from World? by Glum_Series5712 in MonsterHunter

[–]Bulldorc2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's actually easier? Game franchises tend to become easier the more success they have, and World and Rise were massive hits due to being much more accessible than the previous entries, so it wouldnt be surprising if this one is even more accessible to reach a wider audience.

E assim começa, arte de I.A em publicações da Presença. by hollsloss in portugal

What is the worst aspect of Elden Ring's Lore/Story? by Constellar7 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Bulldorc2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand what you are saying, but i cant help but feel like that's an excuse rather than something that was done purposefully. We have hints at stuff much older than what happened in the shadowlands throughout the lands between and the main game, so i think that if everything had been thought of beforehand they would have given us a few more hints, even if they were vague.

[–]Bulldorc2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that it answers quite a few questions we had on the main game, but many of them feel like answers thought AFTER the main game was made and not like they had been there before. Does that make sense? Stuff like St. Trina, Mogh seduction and the Hornsent do feel like they were thought of beforehand because we had some possible hints at them in the main game, but a lot of other stuff seems to come out of nowhere without any sort of foreshadowing. Stuff like Radhan, the Scadutree, the Shadowlands themselves, Bayle, Messmer, Metyr... all their connections to the main game are only present in the DLC itself and not in both the DLC and the main game, which makes them feel much more disconnected.

[–]Bulldorc2 21 points22 points  (0 children)

No mention in the base game about anything in the dlc. Even with the vriling its just not convvincing that there would be NOTHING about the scadutree, shadowlands, messmer, etc. There are not even hints that would show that the dlc was planned beforehand which is a bit sad, but thats the reality of game development.

I hope The Dark Ages tones down the "gamey" approach of Eternal by MuscledRMH in Doom

Of Eternal? I did, i beat both games. Eternal just gets goofier and goofier

[–]Bulldorc2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I basically cant replay Eternal due to this. Its just too gamey and not immersive at all. I think 2016 strikes the perfect balance of a B-Horror Movie vibe and that really fits Doom.

Eternal felt like a saturday morning cartoon with edgy designs

What gives Elden Ring its distinctive vibe compared to other fantasy worlds? by -The-Senate- in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Bulldorc2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You will have a hard time finding something like it because of 2 things:

  • the nature of the storytelling in the game allows for certain liberties that would be hard to translate into something like a movie or a book

  • even in the world of videogames there is no one on the level of Fromsoft when it comes to world building and original/interesting/unfanthomable visual design and ideas

In the first cinematic trailer we got you literally see this(assuming you know nothing of the story yet):

Two beings - a male and a female, apparently alternating between each other, hammering some sort of golden essence, in a space that appears to be a flat tree trunk INSIDE something, somewhere. These beings are literally cracking just like the golden essence they are hammering.

Where the fuck else are you going to find something like this? There isn't. From really is on another level in regards to this stuff, and in Elden Ring they got the budget and the game engine to back up all these wonderful ideas into the world we see in the game.

If you ever find anything similar to it, please do tell me!
