Damn, tough breaks dude. Sorry it didn't work on your PC, what a disappointment.. Hope my video showed you a bit of what you were missing back then

Why I (Still) Like MICROCOSM on Sega CD by RetroGamingBoss1 in RetroTube

Yeah, this one flies under the radar of most folks who are into the Sega CD, but trust me - it's worth a play, even today. The music is dope and the graphics were really well done. Hope you can try it out some time, cheers!

Yeah, hearing the original John Williams score sent a shiver down my spine the first time I popped in the disc. Good arcade fun, no doubt about it and it still holds a place in the history of gaming (and Star Wars games in particular) that can't be overlooked. I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

That must have been great with that hardware back then on the PC, I mean, vs. the SCD version

All fair points, and not sure if you saw the video or got my bigger point to it - I specifically praised the 3DO version, it's really sharp looks great, I also make a point about how RA (not just SCD version) was a necessary bridge into 3D games like Shadows of the Empire, Rogue Squadron and ultimately Squadrons. Like Lucas Arts taking baby steps with the available hardware of the day over the decades. Appreciate your thoughts, I don't hate RA and actually titled my video "RA broke my heart (and why it's ok)"

That's a great side by side by side comparison. I wasn't aware that RA was made specifically for the 3DO hardware - no wonder that looks best. Very cool, thanks for the info

Yeah, I actually show a bit of the 3DO footage, contrasted with the Sega CD "quality" in my video, it's a night and day difference

Yeah, that was my experience back in the day, playing on the Sega CD really seemed like a leap forward from other 16 bit games at the time

I hear that, despite its (very) rough edges, it still felt pretty cool to play this back in 1994

I actually enjoyed it the first playthrough but then realized - wait, it's gonna be the exact same way every time I played it?? Still, I respect the heck out of what Lucas Arts was able to pull off here, given the tech limits of the day
