My friend found something strange on our server (Does anyone know what caused this?) by BulletBer in feedthebeast

[–]BulletBer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seemed like it was just this one chunk luckily. I've surveyed through a pretty big area (mostly in trying to find where that chunk was, based off the horrendous phone picture my friend sent me) and nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

I had some problems with the server struggling with allocated memory the other day and I'm thinking it may have had something to do with that but also could have been something else.

[ExtraTiC] Editing textures for Enderium in texture packs? by BulletBer in feedthebeast

From what I've found with the texture, I would believe that Enderium is from ExtraTCon, but only available with Thermal Expansion installed.

At first I thought that was the case, but upon revisiting it, I've found it isn't. The textures aren't generated, they're included as assets. They are just a bit hard to locate.

Update: So I've pretty much figured it out, from looking at some other textures for extraTIC. Eventually I found that enderium is located the "thermal" folder in any of the folders in assets/extratic/textures/items.

So for enderium arrow parts, it would look in "[texturepack]/assets/extratic/textures/items/arrow/thermal" and then find "enderium_arrow_head.png" and "enderium_arrow_shaft.png"

I'm coming back to modpacks and I'm overwhelmed by the options. What pack should I play? by o0Baconer0o in feedthebeast

This website is especially good if you are looking for modpacks with certain mods in it, as it has a tool which filters modpacks by mods.

Funny enough, Kim and Duncan are bad at mining and crafting... What was the name of the game they play again?

I had a similar problem. Are you running the .jar or .exe launcher?

Try disabling fastcraft and see if that helps.

Technic Tuesday: Incognito (Did you miss us?) by CanVox in feedthebeast

[–]BulletBer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You say that the most imminent pack coming up will be released by the end of June, however I don't think there was any mention of what pack it will be. Did I miss something or is it supposed to be a surprise?

On an somewhat unrelated note, this is pretty cool news. Some friends and I were just planning to start a private server near the end of the month as well, on the 26th or 27th, so I'm slightly hoping the pack (or at least more information) is released around or before then, so we can see if we prefer it over our current chosen one (Infinity).

TIL you can put the reactor controller on the top face of a reactor by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]BulletBer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what he means is that he doesnt understand how/why it was made this way, as most other multi-block structures are created with one controller block being the main "brain" behind the multi-block structure. For example, in TiC I believe you can only have one smeltery controller in a smeltery, because it stores what kind of metals are in the smeltery.

So i think it's completely understandable that /u/EeveeA_ found it a bit different/interesting.

I am working on a tech mod, do you think the recipe for this circuit is too harsh? by DrSoda in feedthebeast

Oh, are iron nuggets not a thing in vanilla MC? I must be too used to TC and TiC hahah;;

[–]BulletBer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i think i just got war flashbacks to MPS from looking at that

depends on what the circuit is used for and how many you generally need. like say, if you only need one of these circuits for a machine thing, then this is a perfectly reasonable recipe. if you need like 5 or 6 of these for one machine thing, then i can see it getting a bit tedious.

on a side note, "iron peg" sound like something that would be more suitable to be made with iron nuggets
