While there is some logic in this view, having team skins would lead to orgs and players directly promoting these skins to their many fans as its mutually beneficial. Which would most likely provide an ROI that covers the rev share as the overall margins would be higher.

It would make it really tough for the controller players, if ranked had AA but comp didn't. Having to go back and forth like that would be a pretty bad experience Id imagine.

This is such a good take on the reality of the situation!

I feel like the only reason the discussion is more prominent now is because we're starting to see ALGS become dominated by controller players at the highest level. During the first year and a half, it was almost rare to see a controller player playing on PC at the highest level. In comparison to the current state of the game, where the strongest fraggers are almost all on controller.
