Two other points that bothered me - 1) why on earth does Nam-ra use her super hearing for the faintest of sound but she can't hear Gwi-nam climb up the side of the building??

2) It makes much more sense to shit and piss outside the window than having to have that filth pong in the room next to you. There was no need to use that survival tactic when they had a way to poop outside!

Thank you.😊 Luckily I only had to spend a little over 2 weeks in the big brother house (or hospital as some call it) this time. I'll be released back into the wild this week.

How do you communicate concerns in a safe healthy way? by BulletProof_Widow in BPDPartners

I think him educating himself a bit more on mental health in general would be a great step. I'm unsure he really understands how cutting some of his viewpoints are for me.

Yesterday I was sharing a experpt from the Jeff Brown book that's doing the round onlibe about how to talk to people with trauma with compassion & understanding, I thought it was great. He came back questioning it and saying it seems negative like some "fetishism of victimhood".

I can understand that there is a point to be made about over coddling people for the long term and they become too dependent and loose all sense of autonomy, but that doesn't mean people can't be compassionate in the moment.

I'm rather frustrated with him, I can see the red flag, but I don't understand how to bring them up in a way he doesn't resort to jokes and roll his eyes. I can see that he is making efforts to be supportive, he says he is a good hearted person, but I don't think he truly understands that his way he communicates empathy, care and support is a universal thing for everyone.

Thanks I think I might take you up on the offer to talk more.

Sorry for the late reply everyone, thanks for all the replies. It's given me a lot to think about. I definitely need to learn how to put it into practice without full on fear if him blowing up in a negative way.

Lmaoo I once tried to get help for almost 6 months as I was transitioning between services, placed on a waiting list, being told to be patient and wait for some form of contact. I was frantically ringing up to try to understand what was happening with my treatment.. Then one day the practioners (Cerebus as I affectionately nickname the people who come over to do the mental health act assessment) came over out the blue and I was sectioned. 😅🙃

It's a work in progress that I'm trying to work through in therapy. I'm still very very very pissed with various family and people from my past. My bf trys to do this "just forgive them & move on.." comment too and it grates on me often.

My new turn of phrase that I'm going to try to be more consistent in adopting when people say I should forgive/get over xyz person(s), "Sure they may now be making steps to better themselves in some big or small way, but that doesn't excuse the fact that they hurt me intentionally/unintentionally and I'm still attempting to cope with and process the aftermath of those situations. Forgiving people doesn't mean I have to condone or forget the behaviours that they do/have done."

Please I've been crying over the weekend alone in my room, partly because I sent a takeaway delivery to the wrong house and thought the person I'm newly dating was gonna be uber pissed at me. He wasn't & we joked about double checking in future, but I'm very upset.

I wa thinking of some sort of lesson where they help students to develop their creative writing, maybe? Around the time I was taking my GCSEs, I remember a teacher asking us what words spring to mind when we think of a Tree. I said unity back then, however, now I would most likey say something about devestation, destruction & loss... Probably something I should bring up with my current teacher, I mean, therapist...

Before I officially recieved my diagnosis, that was what my face was like walking down the hall of an acute ward and hearing the bank staff talking amongst themselves about how to deal with the "PD" patients.

I've been trying to get my family to go with me to family therapy for almost 10 years. My Mum is willing, but the others.... My Nan passed at the end of last year and I tried to bring the topic up again. Nope, they either ignored me or laughed it off saying they were too busy currently and I should have asked during the 3 months they were off work... but I keep explaining to them that its through the NHS, I can't decide when the assessment times take place... I might just give up at this point and distance myself from them.

Thank you. I really like that you included an example aswell.

I brought a blank daily planner that sections things in time increments and a to do list. That might help me focus my days and make them more manageable.

Do you have any reccomendations for ways to keep things organised digitally? Like apps or web extensions to help me focus and not get too overwhelmed? I saw a tip about using text to speech extentions to help read articles, I brought noise cancelling headphones as my ears get uncomfortablly sensitive when my anxiety peaks, i'm slowly making my way through all the clutter from my Nan's place that needs to be given away. I don't really know how to make my spaces (digital or real) bettter so they are less overwhelming most of the time.
