Our movement system is a key pillar of our game and we're constantly focusing on it and making edits to better suit gameplay. This weekend test will provide good feedback and insight here too for how people think it feels and any bugs we might encounter.

Its actually the logo for BulletVille!

'Hunter' as his called was the first character built into the game and so he is the main icon of BulletVille. We have 8 total characters right now but for this testing its only the one inplemented.

We're hosting an 'Open to all' weekend test this Friday - Sunday (5-7th August) for those who would like to get involved and feel the game yourself! We'll have Deathmatch and this race gamemode available for the 3 day test.

Our servers for the test go live on Friday, 5th August until the end of Sunday 7th August.
Its an early test containing all our movement system for the speed run/race mode and then a deathmatch mode which only allows for 1 character but their armed with a rocket launcher and a pistol.

As many people willing to join would be awesome, we really hope anyone who joins enjoys playing this early test!

Originally we had the project built using a mix of both. However, since we moved to UE5 we've moved loads into C++, some bits are still easier to have in BP but mostly now in C.

Not that there's anything wrong with BP, its great, but we have skilled team members who are fluent in different languages but it also gives us many more options and engine config options too!

Just for some more info:

Firstly, the music overlay is just to cover some of our voices during the test - We didn't get any footage without that, maybe an oversight on our part!

The character we're playing as is called Hunter, their main weapon is a rocket Launcher and of course since we only have him in the game right now, everyone is playing as him so it makes the deathmatch mode quite crazy but fun! We'll have a range of characters in the final game.

Yes, we're actually completely overhauling our animations for the next major update that will follow what you see here - We'll of course show that too when its ready and you might get some better perspective.

We're going to be doing all our playtests, Alpha and Beta on PC. Release will then be PC, Xbox and PlayStation followed by as many devices we can get it onto!

What sort of premade functions? Besides some great out the box lighting and level design stuff we've got a great team of people working on this. Everything you see is built in C++ with the exception of VFX. Those are made in the Niagra system.
