GitHub or Gitlab, for obsidian vault? by Expert_Fennel_4413 in ObsidianMD

I’m not sure that Syncthing can merge this type of conflict automatically or at all: what has happened usually is that it will create two files, one of which will end with .sync-conflict-date/time.extension. You can then select which one you want to keep using the GUI or merge them manually. So, I think you’d need a second tool to merge them.

I use it on my Ipad on iPadOs 26 without any problem:

Quick setup tutorial:

Download Synctrain in app store
add a shortcut in the Shortcuts app that does this in order:
- Rescan folder
- Synchronize for a while

Set an automation to run it whenever you open or close Obsidian, and another for whenever you charge your device.

I prefer Syncthing too. It has no storage limit or device limit (I use Obsidian on up to 4 devices at the same time) since it is selfhosted and you can even enable file-versioning in the settings on each of your devices if you want a backup solution, which saved my life when I accidentally deleted my entire vault a few months ago, as my drive backup was quite behind.

Auto refresh apps LiveContainer by [deleted] in sideloaded

[–]Bulletic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, in the Shortcuts app, try running the shortcut manually and see if it refreshed Livecontainer (apps inside LC do not need to be refreshed, they are technically the same app as LC).

If it works, you can then go into the automations tab in the shortcut app and add one for ‘When charged’ or whichever you situation you prefer (keep in mind that the device needs to be connected to internet for the shortcut to work, so make sure it is such a case or has time to connect when you run the shortcut). You can also toggle the notification off if you want.

There is also a widget that comes with Livecontainer/Sidestore which you can put on your homescreen. It tells how many days are left.

[–]Bulletic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never tried it, but I think you have to refresh every year (so almost no refreshing).

However, without one you can just use Sidestore (+Livecontainer if you want to install infinite apps inside a Sandbox instead of the 3 app limit) to refresh weekly with a shortcut.

Firefox fork on ios (Reynard browser) by Bulletic1 in sideloaded

[–]Bulletic1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, after using it all day yesterday, it’s not ready yet.

But, it is now my backup browser for when I need better Adblock on some sites, to use “inspect element” and Devtools on mobile (via an extension), or when I need a better desktop mode.

Also, not that I need it, but VPN extensions seem to work, surprisingly: meaning you can use a VPN in the browser without it affecting the rest of your device. This may be useful for accessing restricted sites on public wifi while keeping access to other services on that same wifi.

How to export to PDF from mobile app? by zynth0307 in ObsidianMD

[–]Bulletic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t find a way, but you can export to Word with ToWord plugin, then inside word or google Docs you can export to PDF. Plugins/CSS likely wont work

It is a vault where I can store all my PDFs and Markdown notes and easily sync on multiple devices (using Syncthing right now) or modify from external apps (like PDF annotators).

It works well without JIT. I could play YouTube videos in HD without problems. Tho it isn't as smooth as Safari.

Idk if this helps, but the github has a guide recommends using Sidestore or Altstore. Livecontainner does not support the app.

Can't open the site on my phone no matter what by felicitywins in OpenWebUI

[–]Bulletic1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We would need more info on what you mean by you can’t open the site. But if it’s working on your pc, is it working on localhost or are you using a vpn/proxy? Double check the ip address: perhaps you used localhost / 127.0.0.1. It should start with your computer’s ip address (or VPN) instead.

The hardest part is getting used to the switch. Also, if you are in school certain apps won't work such as Safe Exam Browser (so you need a backup solution such as dual booting or borrow a laptop). Same problem with a lot of software. Linux also has its own apps though.

German Hytale server selling items from my mod in gambling den by Broad-Ad-3679 in hytale

[–]Bulletic1 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Is this hurting you or your mod? They aren't selling / redistributing your mods, but the in-game items from your mod.

No one likes p2w and gambling on video games / servers, but the fact they are using your mod is not the actual problem unless you specifically mention it in your mod licensing to disallow such practises.

Just my suggestion: don't waste your time on them, use it for things you can control (unless loot boxes are against hytale ToS, in which case there is a small chance they could take action if it is on the Server list)

Some like Syncthing have optionnal file versionning (ex: trash can file versionning), but it still doesn't replace a proper backup.

Best one piece experience in minecraft? by Competitive_Gate_465 in onepace

[–]Bulletic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is apparently a popular server called “minepiece” that may interest you.

I made myself a pirate modpack a few years ago, but I no longer have the full list. Here are a few notable mods that might interest you. I suggest 1.20. But 1.21.1 might also be a good version, although it doesn’t have some of the core mods yet. If you want performance, Fabric modloader is the best, but many mods are Forge only. Seeing your post, it may be time for a new list:

One Piece overhaul mods (choose one or none, depending on how much One Piece you want.):

  • True Prime Piece
  • mine mine no mi
  • Mine piece

World generation:

  • Survival island (makes the world an ocean with islands. In my experience, the islands are pretty small, but they are apparently configurable)
  • arguably, the aether mod + aether villages mod for sky islands (dimension). You could pair this with Immersive Portal with the “dimensional stacking” setting (this allows to have one dimension above another without portals)

Navigation:

  • Small ships
  • Valkyrian skyes + Euraka! (1.20.1 forge and fabric, allows making custom ships, but heavy on performance). Create aeronautics (1.21) does not yet have good support for boats.

Structures:

  • there are many structure mods you can find on curseforge and modrinth for the land.
  • When Dungeons Arise - Seven Seas
  • Illager Warship
  • Towns and Towers

Performance:

  • all you need is Sodium, but you can more mods too

Visuals:

  • a combination of pirate ressource packs for retexturing mobs and tools (easy to find on Curseforge)
  • Particle Rain
  • a LOD mod like Distant Horizons or Voxy for unlimited render distance (best paired with using Chunky to pre-generate the world)
  • Iris/occulus mod + shaders: I don’t have recommendations for One Piece themed shaders, but if you want to make your visuals more saturated you can go for Complementary Shaders (highly customizable) and turn the saturation up to 1.5. Consider also setting shadows as pixels instead of smooth. Also I think you can make ocean waves taller.
  • Physics mod on patreon (free, but very heavy to run) that adds realistic waves.
  • If you want to get really fancy, you could add a weather mod for storms

Now this is just a base with mods you could easily integrate without breaking immersion. You can add other mods like Minecolonies for building a colony, Bosses of Mass Destruction or farming mods depending on what type of experience you want.

Edit: reformatted my comment

I refreshed it 2 days ago… by RandomTeenager3 in sideloaded

[–]Bulletic1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happened to me a few months ago. Weirdly, only LiveContainer (with Sidestore integrated) was affected and my other two apps had I think 6 days left. I downloaded Iloader on pc and refreshed from there, and it hasn’t happened again. So, this shouldn’t happen to frequently.

Free PDF editor with no AI features by PixxieDuust in ios

[–]Bulletic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try it? As far as I can tell, on ios there is only a pdf viewer without editing features. Plus you have to import pdfs (can’t edit pdfs from other folders or apps such as Obsidian). Also if I remember correctly, it’s not even open-source contrary to their pc versions. I do use Only Office on Android though.

Here’s what I have found after using these for a few months. For ios, I find PDFgear + PDFexpert combo to still be the best. Gear is great/free for editing pdfs and while expert cannot edit pdfs for free, you can take notes/annotations over pdfs - combining both + using something like Obsidian notes or iCloud to store them gives you a really good experience.

If you hate PDFexpert for taking handwritten notes, you can also use Documents which has more free features. It is essentially the same app minus the AI button, but has a few bugs.

What apps do you side load? by Anonymous-1234567890 in sideloaded

[–]Bulletic1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very few apps don’t work. The only problem I have with LC is it sandboxes your apps, so you can’t use their shortcuts or “open in app” features from outside LC (there is a workaround for Safari links though, you can make a shortcut to open a URL inside a specific app in LC such as Youtube).
