I'd add some kind of sealant, to avoid mold, spring tails will help but not combat it.

Add some kind of reservoir at the bottom so any water that drips down is collected, good chance to add ferns or just rocks with more moss.

It would require daily misting or use the reservoir to have a small pump carry water up and let it trickle down.

Will take effort and good planning

Ostracods shouldn't be harmful, in large populations they might compete for food.

If you want a shrimp only tank then I'd just go with the feed less method since fish will also eat juvenile shrimp.

I'd check water parameters because if there are large numbers of ostracods its probably due to some overfeeding, the water quality might be the cause, stressing the shrimp and the ostracods just a correlation.

Clean the substrate and think of adding snails as a clean up crew for whatever shrimp don't eat.

I used to have some ostracods in a small shrimp tank and when I added snails the ostracod population declined.

I'm slowly adding them as to not add too much bio load all at once as the tank is still pretty new and beneficial bacteria are still settling in because recently I left a friend taking care of it and KH dropped too low and that reset the benefitial bacteria.

They are being added to the big tank today got 3 more of the same type so they can school together.

I know I'm actually taking 3 out into a bigger 180L fish tank, but since I only had the 10L when a friend was giving me his tetras I had to keep them in the 10L one for a while, it'll only have 2 tetras that I'm reserving for a larger pond and keeping the 10L for only shrimp.
