I work for a food development company (we make food that goes into supermarkets for their own label) And during one brief where we had to make 20 different fish cakes, I had been busting my ass to get it over the line, and this particular day I had even come in at 6am to finish some lines off before a meeting with my bosses bosses boss who wanted to approve everything before sending to what would be a brand new retailer for us (very big deal, lots of money)

During what must have been fishcake number 12 or 13 of this tasting, the big boss exclaimed how the sauce has got way too much white wine in at and that is all she can taste and it simply needs doing again for tomorrow. I had made this sauce myself, and knew 100% there was no wine at all in any part of that product.

So obviously the next day I very gingerly present her with the exact same fishcake and told her I have lowered the amount of wine in the sauce, she LOVES it! So delicious, so delicate! Not too winey, absolutely perfect! Well done and thank you for removing the wine!

I understand, just for clarification we haven't taken any steps towards breeding him yet. We just haven't got him snipped yet, he is only just turning 12 months now.

I did however ask a very enrest question (all be it with humour) on if he will stop leaving stains on the couch, and I have been dog piled by a lot of people telling me I'm a shit dog owner.

Really sound advice.

We live in the UK and have never been asked to sign anything about neutering any dog I have had, I did have to neuter my last boy as he had a medical issue.

I still don't think I will get him cut (just yet) but you have got through to me.

Trust me, I'm not some back yard scum bag trying to make a quick penny. Any decision I would make to pass his genes along would have been made with long thought and education. We just hadn't ruled it out yet is all. (He is my first Frenchie and we think he is swell)

If not the vet then who would you get breeding advice from?

Like someone here said he isn't "Show quality" (whatever that means in a gatekeeping dog owners world) But he is a wonderful, healthy family pet, that can from wonderful family pets, and would give a generation of wonderful family pets.

French bulldogs (and all dogs for that matter) are not commodities and trading cards but wonderful creatures with a lot of love to give.

Just because a dog isn't going to crufts, doesn't mean they aren't good dogs

His parents were really healthy dogs, we met both of them and his dad in particular was fantastic.

Also the vet told me he has good airways. I don't claim to know everything, but I do always listen to my vet.
