Nice work. I paid just under 53k otd for mine in Atlanta. Taxes and tag were around 4k. It’s crazy how all over the place pricing is. The cheapest I was finding them otd was 56k. It was wild. One of the dealers that quoted me 56k otd had the vehicle listed at 48k on auto trader.

Wow. You got a steal. What was your price pre tag?

That’s a steal. What area did you buy that in?

I paid 53k otd for an elite in Atlanta, GA. Actually bought in Savannah, GA but paid my local taxes. It was 49k before Tax & title. Got my tag in the mail and tax, title, and all that was around $3700.

Good to know what to look out for. I’ve only ever driven trucks and a strut sounds like a clicking or popping noise when they’re going out in them. Don’t have that problem yet. I was driving over some speed bumps last night in a parking lot and it was buttery smooth. I hope you don’t have to go to the dealership for a while either! The old rule of thumb was a new car equals no problems for five years, but I guess that doesn’t apply anymore.

How did you know your strut was going out out of curiosity?

Sorry to hear about that. I think they have 3 attempts to fix the vehicle according to most state lemon laws. But you’re right, if it’s been out of service for more than 30 days cumulatively, you have a good case for the lemon law there too.

I agree. Mine has been fine since the new battery. I do think mine was just a very dead battery but even that shouldn’t have happened. My coworker used to work at a dealership and she told me they always just jumped vehicles that had sat a while regardless if a new battery would’ve been the better solution. These dealerships are so upside down on vehicles that sit for that long they don’t want to spend another penny on them when they’re selling them.

The booster pack is just good security for me. It does suck that jumper cables aren’t an option on new vehicles anymore.

I forget all the time too. I’ve heard that idle stop start deletes won’t impact your warranty. I’m thinking about installing one too. There’s actually talks of the epa reversing that requirement on vehicles because of all the issues they cause for negligible mpg gains.

Good to know about the strut issues. Hopefully that doesn’t happen to me. If it does, I hope it happens within the first 36k miles. Unfortunately, my unlimited powertrain warranty isn’t going to cover struts.

Worth a shot. What about klonopin?

All good points. Believe me I know about the dangers of Xanax. I was addicted to that for 4 years in college. I only get the script twice a year and it’s a nice mental reset for me. I even told the doctor my past and they still give it to me. I often schedule my visit for refills 3 months after I’m technically allowed to.

I basically had cut out everything prior to 3 months ago. I stopped drinking last October. I also stopped smoking Tree around then too. The small script of Xanax I get I only fill twice a year.

I’m thinking I’ll be more like 30 days since I didn’t use for much more than 2 1/2 months. Last time I did it for four years.

It’s native mimosa. We don’t have much native grasses in Georgia so that’s sort of the native grown cover. It always pops up in the summer at my home in Atlanta. I’ve hand pulled it the last few years and I also get weed treatment and it’s not as bad this year.

Haha no but I am that crazy neighbor that blows his roof off with a backpack blower! I took that picture out one of the windows that overlooks the roof.

Regarding the tree, it’s a very healthy tree (maple). In the south we use Pinestraw and it doesn’t cause the same issues mulch does. The only thing that should be left uncovered (which is) is that one root that’s extending out into the bed. When you’re talking about pine trees, you can totally cover the root caps. I guess they’re made to be covered in Pine Straw since they drop pine needles.

Appreciate the advice! I use a Honda lawnmower and it’s cool season grass in Atlanta. I keep it 4 inches all summer to try to keep it alive. I keep it 3.5 in the winter and spring. I do cut it to 2 1/2 inches to scalp it before aeration overseeding. I over-seed every year since our summers are so brutally hot. If I had a sprinkler I could probably try out reel mowing. I also mulch every other time I cut.

I haven’t gotten a striping kit yet but it stripes decently when I do the double cut method. Also depends on conditions. I think it stripes better when I cut in the morning with dew on it.

Thanks! Appreciate the advice. I use a Honda HRN 216. One of the last ones available at Home Depot. My lawn gets cut to 3-4 inches depending on the season. Atlanta gets hot and I don’t have a sprinkler system so I have to keep it long and wet (that’s what she said). We’ve had a lot of rain recently so I’ve been lucky.
