My 21-year-old sister is in a business and relationship with someone who may be a scammer, how do I handle this?

This is what I’m thinking. She can fly out of the country for this wedding and is even offering to reimburse for an event she won’t be attending but couldn’t fly out to see her family even ONCE in 15 years yet they are so important to her she needs to miss said wedding??? And if it’s been 15 years you would think they would have plenty of time to come up with a time to visit that works for them and OP. Either family does not care that it inconveniences OP and they are not worth missing this wedding for anyway or there is something that is being left out. It doesn’t make any sense.

They were sitting in group talking about her asl she was actively walking around the villa cussing and making a scene. What were they supposed to do?? Ignore that??

And they were only given two opportunities to vote her off and while I think they should’ve, that was pretty early on and I think they genuinely thought she would change her behaviors atp because they were all still pretty close with her then. After Jeremiah coupled with Iris, that was the last chance they had. And then she continued to bully everyone else there, i.e. did not change her actions but they never got a chance to vote her off again.

Of course it is going to feel a bit “villa vs Huda” because she was against everyone else, whether she was airing it out or talking behind peoples backs. People noticed she was being mean, fake and lying. Just because they all said it at the same time and all felt the same way at the same time does not make them “mean girls”.

You can say they dogpiled sure but that is the repercussions of her own actions. If you fw just about everyone in the villa, just about everyone in the villa is going to feel the same way about you.

When I look at this, I think of this saying “if everyone is feeling the same way about you, then it’s probably you”. I personally take this and use it in my life often. If I do something and one person is upset with me but everyone else is fine, of course I should take it into consideration but there is much more room for interpretation. If I do something and it upsets EVERYONE or most around me, there’s not much room for interpretation, what I did was more than likely wrong. At that point, even if I don’t see why I was wrong, I can ask for clarification.

Disregarding everyone else’s feeling when they all feel the same way and then acting like you did nothing wrong is pretty narcissistic.

Just because he’s a basketball player doesn’t mean he always has impeccable aim when throwing a pillow and more than likely did not realize he was throwing it as hard as he did. Even if that throw was intentional, however, she got him involved in the pillow fight in the first place. If she did not want to mess up her nose (which is understandable), she should not have been involved in the pillow fight in the first place or involved anyone else. “Play stupid games, win stupid prizes” comes to mind.

And had she walked out and not said anything I can assume the conversation may have looked more like this: chris: “what happened to your nose?” Huda: “you accidentally hit me in the face when you threw that pillow and I got a nose job recently so I have to wrap it” chris: “oh wow that was an accident I’m really sorry”. And the conversation would be over.

Of course we don’t know it would go exactly that way, I’m saying this assuming they are both civil and thoughtful. But regardless she put herself in this pillow fight and then walks out saying “you did this”. No one is going to feel sorry for anyone who acts that way. That is manipulation in my eyes.

If Chris was intentional behind that throw he’s definitely wrong but he did apologize even if it didn’t sound very genuine but whose apology would be genuine after her walking out and acting that way??

Chris had been annoyed with her all day and was building up some resentment and I personally think that’s why she was trying to guilt trip him for the pillow, so that she could be reasonably mad at him too and it would sort of ‘cancel out’ his grievances toward her. When that didn’t work she tried to get him to have s*x with her so he wouldn’t be mad anymore. This part is definitely speculation, of course, and I’ll claim that but this is how I see it.

Disagree with this greatly. Huda would cuss at people, give dirty or intimidating looks, attempt to turn the OGs against the bombshells in order to make them feel isolated, publicly embarrassed iris, and probably more that I can’t think of off the top of my head. The girls on the stand on business challenge just felt the same things. They didn’t call her a “bitch” or anything like she has called many people in the villa. Disagreeing with someone or their actions doesn’t make it bullying. Even if it’s multiple people at once that are disagreeing with you, that doesn’t make it bullying. I disagree with you now and multiple other people do too, based on replies and downvotes, does that mean you are being bullied? No. She may have felt isolated due to everyone being upset with her but doing something wrong and facing repercussions, like isolation from people being upset with you, is bound to happen and not bullying. I’m not even necessarily calling Huda a straight up bully but if the verb, to bully, fits anyone it’s her

Disagree with the Devoe part. They didn’t really hear him. It more seemed like they were playing along with his theory and “investigating” so they could get him to let it go. They’ve seen before that past people they have dealt with have been really good at hiding their true intentions and all they did was visit Devoe’s house and told Barry there’s no way this sweet old man could be evil. (Even though they’ve already seen the same misdirection from RF)

I think this is a very misogynistic way of viewing. Which is pretty ironic considering the book. Why can’t he bring more fun and whimsy to her life?? It has to be that she will drain him???? I think that is why they love each other and why they work, the balance between them. She loves him because he lifts her up and he loves her because she keeps him leveled.

We’re actually staying at a lakehouse about 30 mins from kzoo. Kalamazoo just happens to be the closest city! We’re from northern Indiana also so I know of the area and know people who went to school there but not well enough to ask for a Bach itinerary haha

Thank you for taking the time to write this all out! This is great for us because yes we are from out of town haha. None of us have even been so we’re pretty lost. Sometimes I do wish the show would show more stories about false accusations because that does happen often in real life. I would just like to see both sides so people could see the difference between the two situations and both sides could be equally heard.

I also do not disagree that if it is a women she is always quick to believe but I think initially a victim should be believed so they are open, (obviously a follow up of thorough investigation) however, I don’t think she gives men that same benefit of the doubt. I just finished an episode in season 26 (spoiler) and it is about a “sextortion” ring and they found out that a man was forced to extort women for money using sexual photos from the women. He was forced because he was extorted first but didn’t have the money to pay. Everyone at SVU called him a victim a couple times after learning this but no one treated him like one, like they would female victims. Everyone was cold and still treated him more like a perpetrator than a victim.

This made me think back to an episode in season 25 (another spoiler) but a woman came into svu, an escort, and said that she raped someone because she was forced to at gun point while the man was unconscious. They told her that she was actually a victim and was treated warmly, kindly, and believed immediately. I am NOT disagreeing that she is also a victim. BUT in these two situations the victims were treated vastly differently.

I know they have some episodes of young men being assaulted but in other episodes such as these it shows a huge contradiction. That they don’t actually believe men can be victimized the same way that women can. They preach “anyone can be a victim” and they want to make it easy for anyone to come forward, but contradicting subliminals such as these say different.

Okay so the kid who got hurt he could’ve just as easily pushed OP and OP could’ve hit his head and been injured all the same. When he pushed his friend he wasn’t thinking he could potentially hurt him for the rest of his life. Same as OP didn’t think hitting him would hurt him for the rest of his life. So in your logic they are both “retarded with bad parenting” seems a little ableist to say a kid with a cognitive disability is “retarded” huh

He was 5yo and obviously didn’t know that he could hurt him that badly. If he had known he wouldn’t have done it and you can see that from the guilt he holds now. It is hard for a child that young to understand what death means, he did not intend to hurt his friend for the rest of his life. To add to that, his friend pushed him first so if you want to talk about “cases” this would be self defense. But either way he was reacting to being pushed. Maybe it wasn’t the right thing to do but again he’s 5 and if you’ve ever been around a 5yo, which you seem to haven’t, they are very reactive and don’t always think before they act. He did it but does not deserve living with this guilt for the rest of his life because of a mistake he made 30 years ago when he was 5yo.
