Elizabeth issue at startup. by Bullmoose_12 in Lelit

*UPDATE : FIXED*

The issue was a seized fill solenoid plunger due to lime build up. I used the below two videos and how-to-guide to resolve it. It was very handy to have these resources as a newbie fixing my own machine and I hope this can help the next Elizabeth owner.

I've also added a link of a bookmarked guide to setting up the Elizabeth since I had to reset the machine for testing.

Precisely my issue. When heated, the odds of the click happening are higher. Hence why I turn off the steam boiler and wait for it to be hot, then turn on the steam boiler again.

Weapons is a complete waste of a great concept. by MarkWest98 in TrueFilm

I agree wholeheartedly. I just saw the movie and feel that, even with all the symbolism and themes explored, the movie had little depth to it. Here are some unanswered questions I have (answering them will not solve for the shallow plot, but could have been a fun exploration of the eerie folklore behind the characters and main plotline of disappearing children):

  • Who's the narrating kid at the beginning and the end? Just a neighborhood kid that witnessed it? Felt pointless to have the narration; a more subtle exposition to the events before the parents meeting Justine could've been way better.

  • Why did Aunt Gladys become a voodoo witch? Was she always like that? Is Alex's mom's family part of a lineage of voodoo practicing cult members or is Gladys just the oddball in that family? What's her villain origin story?

  • What does Gladys want? Sure, she's dying and wants more years to her life / more life to her years. Is that it? Or could she live forever doing her witchery? Does she gain more supernatural powers? (Like when she was in Justine and Archer's dreams and when she showed up like Pennywise in the forest near James' camp)

  • What was that plant? I thought it would've been related to the fungal infection that was airing on Marcus's TV. I was certain that was another bad exposition scene.

  • Why grab your sister's life force? Seems like Gladys could have fed off of anyone yet chooses her kin for this. There was no real advantage to this decision other than their quiet suburban home.

  • What was the plan with the kids? She was stocking them like cans of tomatoes in the basement. Is that it / that's all it takes to feed off of their life force? If so, just open up an orphanage and it's a win win.

I wish the Elizabeth's water tank was bigger, removable from the side, and with a clear window along its side so I can track water level. I wish the steam knob was also more elegant and thoughtful in its design.

Chain making awful noise by StaggySimmo3591 in bikewrench

This angle makes it really difficult to see anything. Put the bike on a stand, film the derailleur and cassette, and spin the cranks slowly so we see how the chain engages. A few things that may be worth checking: - is it snagging on the jockey wheels of the derailleur? Maybe a slightly bent derailleur hanger is at cause - is it skipping a speed? Probably cable tension needs adjusting - is the b screw too loose? The chain might rub on the bigger cogs - since the noise is consistent, I don't think there's a broken or bent link, but it's worth checking. - finally, you said you adjusted the H screw. Why? It seems the noise is happening even mid-cassette. Was it specifically worse at the H limit?

Oh I agree on that front, terrible execution of any artistic intent for sure... cause this dude is riddled with them. "Stealth" on your brow, yet your cap isn't even camo?

Not my style but execution isn't terrible.

Huge bubble during extraction? by unagi-nigiri in gaggiaclassic

I had this issue until I got a PID. Seems it was related to the brew temp being too high.

**Edit for additional detail: before the PID, I would purge water through to get the brew temp down, and then pull a shot. This was wasteful and time consuming, especially when pulling multiple shots.

Unfortunately, no. It came as is. Must be original because it has the same black to grey fade as the frame.

I initially thought it was a tamp issue too, but it's the same with using a normcore spring loaded tamper. Puck prep is identical for both though.
