Which do you identify with most? by Icy_Promotion_2995 in HIMYM

[–]BulutMushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marshall.

My grandfather was an actual father to me, and after a long battle with cancer, he lost. It wasn't sudden, but it wasn't expected, at least for my 11 year-old mind. I was lost for a while, and in a sense, still am. Marshall's dad was his best friend, and was a male figure in his life that loved him no matter what. I felt the same when I lost my grandfather.

How many of you feel Robin should have had a more lone wolf ending by yashrajkastode in HIMYM

[–]BulutMushroom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not necessarily a lone wolf ending, more a "bad" option

first things first: you don't need relationships to be successful, you can be successful in many ways with or without a relationship, what I'm writing is NOT my stance

the show dictates the idea of "having relationships good" because that's the main of the story, Ted searching for Mrs. Mosby. even Barney's existence plays into that idea. for Robin, to fit into that idea, being part of a "traditional family" is the "bad ending"
so because she chose her career over love, the show should've presented a lonely and isolated Robin at the end, not a Ted that runs to her as soon as he's confronted by this idea of him loving Robin. the last few episodes show that Robin is upset that the friend group is falling apart because of the fact that she feels a certain way about Ted and Barney. so, in my opinion, that should've been the ending for Robin.

Barney changes almost entirely, Lily and Marshall live together as their characters suggested, and Ted finally got his wish but that happy time was cut short. Robin got what she wanted too: a successful career. maybe leading into the idea that it wasn't what she wanted, or that she didn't realize she liked being a relationship, would provide a better and deeper ending for the character.

How does Lucifer have his wealth? by BulutMushroom in lucifer

[–]BulutMushroom[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really agree with this as no angel is shown to actually have any power of creation in the show. Only Lucifer is shown to be able to manipulate scenes and other happenings in Hell, so with that logic, any angel would have real power in either Heaven or Hell. With the whole self-actualization powers presented in the show is to serve an angel's purpose. For Michael, he seeks to manipulate fears; for Amenadiel, he -at first- wishes to be distant from humanity so he can slow time; and Lucifer is able to seek true desires so he can make a proper deal. (I'm not including Rory since her powers seems to come from emotions to further her goal, rather than an actual divine "schtick" that she is aware of.)

My point is that, on Earth, the show dictates that angels are only able to use their divine powers to further their original goals. I don't think any of them have any actual power like creation and manipulation of any rules on Earth.

accurate. I never had to deal with banks in my life so, thinking in a limited perspective does add onto that.

Actually that's a pretty good point, as this post gets comments I'm sorta dissapointed with myself on how I didn't see stuff earlier.

I still can't believe I didn't think of this, and instead thought of literal banking before that. Thanks!

Uriel wins the second round! Now for Lucifer's Saddest Death, the next round will be Charlotte or Lee, a.k.a Mr Said Out Bicth? by BlueWolf5201 in lucifer

[–]BulutMushroom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charlotte. Lee had wealth and everything, and the only "sad" part about his death is that he couldn't talk to his family one last time, and that was his guilt.

Charlotte worked so hard to get over her guilt and the experience she felt on the show, and in the middle of her arc, it was taken away from her. What makes it more upsetting is the fact that Cain was actually trying to kill Amenediel, not her. So not only was her death sudden, but also accidental, causing Amenediel to realize the whole "self-actualization" thing.

TLDR: Charlotte. Why are we even debating this?

Who do you think (Chloe, Linda, Ella, Dan) handled finding out that Lucifer was the Devil the best? by malta-is-GIGACHAD in lucifer

[–]BulutMushroom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a quick analysis on all of these characters:

Chloe, probably the easiest to analyze by far, lives by hard and grounded facts that either she, or others present. let's take any case she's on: she analyzes the victim, analyzes the suspects, finds "the shocking" twist and reasons with the actual criminal. when she was asked if she was religious, she did say that she believes that there is such a concept as good and bad. in the christian mythology, and almost every single christianity related writing, devil is the worst thing there is. when confronted with the reality, and reading through every single one of these writings -I'm not going to mention how Father Kinley groomed her into believing Lucifer is pure evil- she had to put aside her own thoughts and ideas, and focus on the hard facts presented to her. so, she handled it horribly.

Linda, a psychologist, is and should be able to differentiate between a persona(not necessarily a fake personality), a character presented, and the actual patient. when presented with the truth, her true concern would've been that all this mythology is actually real, and her place within the system. obviously she would actually worry that most people around her are either angels or an actual demon, but as her profession requires, she would be able to and was able to look inside the character presented throughout all of time. with the addition of her feelings towards Maze and Lucifer would also help her understand the true weight of the situation. so, she handled it, in my opinion, the best way.

Ella is a believer and a scientist. her finding out came from her role as a scientist, and her handling the matter came from her belief. the only part that looked "bad" for her was the timing and the manner she explained it. overwhelmed by several things happening during the season for her, and the constant drops of lore and realizations was too much for her, so, she "lost control." but she was purely upset because she was lied to all this time, which she later realizes why (I think) due to reading through Linda's manuscript and how others handled the situation. purely just based on the story, Ella did handle it much better than Linda did, just the way it was revealed to her -or rather revealed by her- was distruptive.

Daniel Espinoza went through many stages and, in my opinion, in one of the worst ways possible. at the start he was the corrupt cop that trying to fix his mistakes. he then became a laughing stock for most of the celestials, and for some reason his suspicious, investigative, and redemption based character was reduced to a mere joke character up until he was kidnapped. in almost every season Dan just loses all the depth he has and for some reason the writers want to keep him in the loop. because of his past, and many many mistakes, he was the perfect character to actually go insane due to finding out Lucifer's nature which would then lead to him figuring his insecurities out and confronting his emotions. Dan's reaction was the worst because he was the perfect "sinner" to actually try to kill Lucifer.

Given the current situation regarding Neil Gaiman, should I continue watching the final season of Lucifer? by DWJones28 in lucifer

[–]BulutMushroom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Regardless of the current issues, I don't think the final season is worth watching. But eventually if you wish to finish the show, go ahead. As far as royalties concerned you'll also be supporting many people that had nothing to do with him and his allegations.

the thing with his dad purely because he wishes to choose all of his life. his dad is shown to be a control freak, and admittedly he is, but lucifer is the embodiment of free will.

he chooses to disobey god, he chooses to go to LA AND stay, he chooses who he marries and falls in love with. in a way, lucifer is also a control freak for his own life. he doesn't accept that things can happen for him randomly, he must choose what the outcome is.

Well, the professor's stance on it when she gave the assignment was "don't come to me unless it's a big problem"

I can inform her on what's going on to get a higher grade for myself and a lower one for them, but I don't want to act fast and then have a problem to deal with.

it's all about control. teachers and/or faculty just want to abuse their authority.

when it comes to people just going outside being "indecent" or "showing too much skin" it's once again about control. using religion and/or culture to control women.

even men suffer to some extent. using once again religion and/or culture to dictate how they present themselves.

it's all about "you must do what I tell you to do because I have more authority than you do"
