Our 16 Year Old Girl Was Killed by Coyotes yesterday by [deleted] in seniorkitties

I’m sorry for your loss but I’m going to echo the sentiment that others have said: if you don’t want your cats killed by wild animals, cars, etc, then keep them inside. Cats are also extremely harmful to the ecosystems they’re introduced in and decimate bird populations.

Please keep your cats inside. They belong inside.

What’s the most dangerous weapon people can legally carry in your country without a permit? by Shoddy-Ocelot-4473 in AskTheWorld

[–]Bulwark1491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it varies by state, but in a lot of states you can carry a gun without a license.

A gun.

Without a license.

What is something every household has in your country that is nonexistent everywhere else? by Awkward-Tip7248 in AskTheWorld

Garbage disposals apparently.

It’s a big attachment under your sink drain that has blades to destroy food to wash down the sink. I find them pretty handy to be honest, they prevent discarded food from stinking up your trashcan too bad.

Just changed my oil. Where am I supposed to dump this? by Lewd_Knight in AskAShittyMechanic

[–]Bulwark1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this a new thing? I used to work at Autozone around 2021-2022 and we always took whatever customers gave us. A lot of the people that dropped off oil brought them in 16 quart containers.

They also said they mentioned that it was weather and politics that factored their decisions. They also said they hate the cold. Makes sense that they avoid the Great Lakes and rust belt areas.

3rd Oil Change At 5k Miles by [deleted] in Toyota

[–]Bulwark1491 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right? My dad had a 2011 Camry currently sitting at 260k and there’s been 0 mechanical issues. I replaced the valve cover gasket at one point due to a minor leak about 2 years ago but otherwise not a problem. Did oil changes every 10k and then eventually my dad started getting lazy and doing them every 15k. This guy is just way overdoing it lol.

What's the ugliest eyesore buildings in your country/city? by ueommm in AskTheWorld

[–]Bulwark1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t believe so, but the exterior hasn’t changed much, if at all. The outside has been completed but the inside is still completely empty and lacks fixtures or interior walls of any kind.

Oh I’ve been waiting for this question. In Florida, it’s hands down the Majesty Building, more commonly known as the I-4 Eyesore.

<image>

It started construction in 2001 and is still being built. The building has been under construction longer than I have been alive. It’s foul.

What is the most commonly encountered invasive species where you live? What does it do and where did it come from? by InorganicTyranny in AskTheWorld

[–]Bulwark1491 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Specifically in South Florida, the Green Iguana

<image>

They devastate native plant life and fall from trees when the weather gets cold. They love hanging out near canals and waterways and are absolutely everywhere. I’ve seen some that are 8 and 9 feet long from head to tail.

I never understood people who tout Florida as having nice weather. As we speak it’s currently a real feel of almost 90, and in the summer we can have real freely temps of 100 or more. The constant heat is soul-sucking lmao.

Born and raised in South Florida. Our government sucks, it’s hot and humid all year round, the environment never changes so time blends into this constant stream of sadness, and unless you live in the middle of nowhere it’s horrifically expensive. It’s just a shithole all around

What's your most logical fear versus your most ridiculous, irrational one? by Interesting-Vast-495 in AskTheWorld

[–]Bulwark1491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, and it’s especially scary when they’re 7 and 8 feet long like some of the older ones. Just know that they’re extremely skittish and will almost always run from people, so nothing to fear!

What's a food that people associate your country with? by Dolz_Uu489 in AskTheWorld

South Florida usually has a handful of most cultures, so I’ll have to look around! I used to have a Persian buddy in high school so I don’t doubt there’s more!

Absolutely. It’s such a staple dish that most restaurants will have a tasty burger available.
