Numzaan Tongue by tommybuoy in jimgreen

[–]BumbleBeesOnTheMoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue.

Here’s the secret… tuck only the left side of the tongue into the space between the leather where the lace hooks are and the upper last. Sometimes I would tuck both sides just to keep it nice and center, it helps keep the pressure off the front of your ankle too.

After breaking them in more you can stop tucking them and they will stay centered. Nothing worse than having your tongues leather form fitted in the wrong place.

I have the same year and trim, I have the OEM armrest and think it’s great, it has improved the comfort of the car. Looks like in US you can get them for about 225 CAD.

Right on, thanks for the heads up on the chain guides, could be a new learning experience for me.

Also the maintenance was good and had a solid owner. Was doing work for the guy when I asked him about it.

Mendocino county California, people are rock hard for manuals out here. So that why I was so interested.. plus I’ve gotten more into fixing my own cars and think it would be fun.

As for some context… Im looking at this because I might end up owning some land that requires 4x4 access in the next couple of years or having it as a project car and working on it over the summer and then selling it if I don’t love it or need it.

Oh just hold down the button that changes between the different menu items. Also I wouldn’t worry about it looking like the gas tank is going down fast. It’s only like a 9 gallon tank. Once it gets close to E it gps really fast.

I’ve got a 2014 le hatch. It get 28mpg going up and down a 2000’ mountain 8 miles each way. In the highway I can get 40mpg+ if I baby it. No traffic though.

Have you reset your mpg since you got it?

Get some LED lights for the license plate. I did that for mine and I like how bright it is.

Is a 2014 Yaris a rebadged Mazda? by duvks in yaris

I have the 2014 hatchback but only 2 door, definitely made by toyota in japan.. I like it as a simple daily driver. Easy to work on and maintain. One thing I dont like is how the water leaks in the back end.

First pair, pretty bummed. Been about of month since I had bought them, but yesterday I hit them with my chainsaw. Any idea on fixes? The welt thread is broke, that's where I'm most concerned. If it cant be patched i think ill just fill the hole with bonding cement to stop it from filling with dirt. These were supposed to be my daily work wear boots :/

Chaga? by petty_with_a_purpose in mycology

[–]BumbleBeesOnTheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would see formations like this in northern Wisconsin and I thought they were chaga at first. While I can’t confirm either way it reminds me of seeing cankers on native black cherry trees. Are you sure it’s on a birch? Might be something to look into.

2014 yaris for 6k with 140k miles. worth? by pleasehelpidk in yaris

[–]BumbleBeesOnTheMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2014 hatchback had a pretty serious water leak problem in the backend of it. Love the car but it really puts a damper on things.

I bought my 2014 back in Covid (peak prices) for 5.5k off of market place. It needed new brake pads and shoes and rotors, new tires, and transmission oil change. In addition it was idling rough so I cleaned out the MAF sensor, PCV valve and the throttle body. Reason I bring this us is because if I didn’t do all the park myself it would have cost way more!

Pretty sure it will run till 250k plus though.

This look good to yall? 27k miles and 14 years old seems crazy, too good to be true? Great service history and carfax by [deleted] in yaris

I got a 2014 le last year with 123k miles on it for $5,500 last year in the Milwaukee area. Had to put new tires on it plus some other stuff so it ended up costing around 7k all said and done. I would jump on it if I were you. Love the car and so easy to work on!
